Our Signal strength so BAD at home

I don’t understand why our signal strength has gotten so poor. I make phone calls and it is so bad I have to go closer to a window or even GO OUTSIDE!!!!
Several years ago, I turned off my home phone just cause all I got were unwanted sales calls. Now I am thinking either turn back on or change carrier.

Verizon bill goes up and up but as many have said coverage quality has gone down and this was before CoViD-19. WHY??????
