Paired tablet not showing messaging attachment

I have a new Samsung S8 wifi tablet paired to my Samsung A50 phone using the  Google messaging app. My issue is if I send a text message with an attachment from the tablet, the sent attachment on the tablet shows up as a download now box and if I press the download load box it makes a second copy elsewhere in my tablet but the download box remains. However if I check my A50 phone the text attachment is visible and if I send an attachment from my phone, I can see the attachment on my tablet. So it's a very specific problem.

I have paired my phone with several other non Samsung tablets and this issue does not appear.  Any ideas on how to fix this? I tried the usual, making sure  Google messaging is the default app, deleting and reinstalling the app, clearing cache and/ or data and several re-pairing of the devices with no luck.

Hi. Thanks for reaching out the Verizon family, we understand your frustration, it looks that you need to do is to set up the correct directory for the attachments.

You can do it on the Google account settings.
