Photos in Gallery going to Verizon Clud, not Google Photos

Hello,

I just realized that I was missing a bunch of photos from Google photos where I have my device folders from the Samsung Gallery back-up. I found them i n the verizon cloud b/c I saw a link to the cloud when hitting the three vertical dots under Albums. I don't know how long this has been happening,  but does anyone know HOW it happened or WHY my photos are not just all backing up to Google Photos? My suspicion is that I somehow hit "verizon cloud" or enabled that back-up and so they are going there before Google does a back-up, but this is horrible b/c I have a ton of storage with Google and not sure how much with Verizon (once I got a warning that everything would disappear). Is there a way to get Verizon Cloud to also back-up to Google Photos or to stop photos from going to Verizon Cloud so they will all go to my automatic Google back-up. ?
