Playlists for the Fascinate Music Player

Is there a way to create playlists in the Fascinate Music Player?

I am able to get the music onto the phone.

I have tried Rhapsody and VZ Media Manager.  Nothing will create a playlist on the phone and there's nothing on the phone to do it with.

I have provided some information below on creating a playlist on the Samsung Fascinate.

Creating a playlist

Step 1 - From the Home screen, select Applications > Music Player > Playlists.

Step 2 - Select Menu > Create, then touch the name field to enter a name for the playlist.

Step 3 - Touch Save to save the new playlist.

Adding a Playlist

Step 1 - From the Home screen, select Applications >
Music Player.

Step 2 -  Select and hold on a song, then choose Add to playlist from
the pop-up menu.

Step 3 - Choose one of these options:

Touch a playlist to add the selected song to the playlist.

Touch Create playlist to create a new playlist and add the selected
song to it.

Adding multiple songs to a playlist

Step 1 From the Home screen, select Applications >
Music Player.

Step 2 Touch Menu > Add to playlist.

Step 3 Touch songs to select them, or touch Select all. When
selected, a checkmark appears in the checkbox.

Step 4 - . Touch Add , then select a playlist, or touch Create playlist to
create a new playlist.

I hope this helps.

How do you rearrange the songs that are on a playlist?

The Samsung Fascinate does not have an option native to the device that will allow you to rearrange songs in a playlist.

Is there a way to make a playlist through V CAST music and export it to a device?  Or can you only make playlists on the device itself?

Hi. You can create a playlist through VCast Media Manager and then transfer to your device. Below I have provided you with the steps to do so.

* Create a Playlist on your PC:

1. Select either the Music or Video tab from the top menu.

2. In the lower left of the desktop app, select the Add Playlist icon.
A dialog box displays in the center of the app to input the name of the playlist. The files of the media tab selected display in the center pane.

3.  Select or drag / drop the media file(s) to the desired playlist.

* Transfer Media Files (to your device)

1. From the Windows desktop, click Start > (Programs) All Programs > V CAST Media Manager > V Cast Media Manager.

2. Drag and drop the file (music / pictures / videos) on the destination tab (Computer / Device / CD).
Note Alternately, right-click the file then click Transfer > To Phone / To CD / To PC.

3. From the Transfers tab, ensure the destination location is selected then click START TRANSFER (located at the lower-left side of the screen).

Note If transfering to a CD, ensure Burn Audio CD / Burn Data CD is selected then click START BURNING.

  • To Device
  • To Computer
  • To CD

4. If presented, adjust as desired then click OK.

  • To transfer music files to the handset, ensure the device is in synchronization mode.
  • To transfer pictures / videos to the handset, ensure the device is not in synchronization mode.

5. If presented, click OK.

These are great steps to transfer the music to the device, but it will not transfer the playlist to the device, will it? I used VCast Media Manager for a while and didn't see a way to do that.

Where do you have your music? I have mine on my computer, and I wanted to be able to sync the music and playlists from my workstation to my Fascinate. I was informed of an app called iSyncr and iSyncr Wifi that will use iTunes on the computer, and will transfer the playlists and music from the workstation to the Fascinate, and the WiFi addon does it over your home wireless if you have it. It cost about $4.00 for both pieces, and works great.
