I know how important it is to stay connected to WiFi, JIMR223. I'm sorry you're having this issue with your Uverse only. Are other devices able to successfully connect and stay connected? Have you ever connected to that WiFi without being dropped?
Please try to Reset Network Settings and then restart your phone.
