My friend had her Verizon smartphone stolen and I don't know if she has an Google account on the Samsung Galaxy S6. It is probably unlocked because she is using a MVNO carrier, but if she has the IMEI, can she report it stolen to Verizon or Samsung or both, and will they be able to remotely wipe it or brick it? Thank you. There might be photos of her birth certificate on there and she's afraid of identity theft.

She would need to contact the MVNO carrier to report it stolen.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 would require a Google account assigned to it. Your friend should try to find it and if necessary remote wipe it. Be ready to find a lost Android device - Android Help
