I just switched from an iPhone 15 Pro to a Samsung s25 ultra. I went to put RCS on after I swapped all my data, and found it be stuck verifying for several hours. I tried several suggestions, such as reinstalling google messages, clearing the data/cache, turning off auto verification, and several more things.
I also spoke to a verizon rep who suggested that maybe my apple watch (which was linked to my phone number) could be causing issues, but even after taking it off my phone number, it still won't work.

Hi, when you switch from an iPhone to an Android, you must first deregister your number from iMessage, because otherwise Apple thinks you still have an iPhone and no texts will work on the Android because they will be coming in as iMessage format.

The RCS stuck on verifying is likely a Google Account issue. I found several tips in this Reddit thread to try. The one fix I've seen suggested the most often is to use the "myaccount dot google dot com forward slash phone" link one poster there included and do the device verification from there. But there are other suggestions in the thread as well.

I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
