Rear camera lens cracked. How do I get an OEM-quality replacement, not the cheap plastic ones I see listed around?

My rear-facing camera outside glass has cracked -- didn't drop it, always treat it well but I've heard it's happened before.  I ordered a replacement online but I found it was cheap plastic when it arrived.  How do I get an OEM-quality replacement?  I haven't been able to locate one.

Jerrodl,

Having a cracked camera lens is definitely no fun for sure! While we don’t have replacement parts available for purchase, if you have insurance you can have the device replaced through Asurion. Do you have insurance coverage on this line?

How long ago did you purchase it? Do you pay for insurance?

jwoody,

Oh goodness! A cracked camera lens isn’t what we want anyone to experience. Their seems to be some confusion on how to get the phone replaced. Let’s roll up our sleeves to make sure we’re all on the same page. With Verizon Wireless, if there isn’t any sort of physical or liquid damage (that includes any cracks to lens’s), then it is covered under the manufacturers warranty. However, since the lens is cracked, that is considered physical damage & has to be filed under the insurance (Asurion). I would recommend contacting Asurion by phone at 888-881-2622 & speak with their representative about everything. They would be replacing the entire phone for you. However, if you are not wanting the entire phone replaced & wanting just the lens replaced, you would have to contact the phone manufacturer directly. I hope that this has helped. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Verizon when I tried to get my camera lens fixed through the insurance It was denied saying that it doesn’t prevent the phone from working correctly
