I'm curious if this may be because of the new update for android but during the work week I keep my phone on airplane mode since I don't get a signal while I'm in my office. I tend to keep airplane mode on while also keeping WiFi enabled so I can view my email and use other apps while avoiding having my phone roam for service. The past two days I've noticed that I'm receiving text messages while airplane mode is enabled through the standard messaging app, not the Verizon app message+. I haven't tried sending a text back, but I'm assuming it probably won't work. I'm not only confused by how this is possible but also worried that I may be getting charged for something that I don't know about. Please let me know!
Thank you

Have you received a reply from Verizon? I'm in the same situation.

Unfortunately I haven't.. one of the admins actually deleted my post
without answering it. Not sure why. The only thing I can think of is that a
recent update has allowed texting through wifi

If you see vzw wifi in status area, then wifi calling is active and text messages will go over wifi.

To clarify, must it be 'vzn' WiFi or any WiFi connection?

Where Verizon usually is in the on the phone, it will say VZW wifi if you have wifi calling active and you are connected to any wifi connection.
