My S22+ software updated to Android 15.0 on May 2nd. Our family uses Android Auto multiple times a week in our Chevrolet Suburban connected to my S22+ with Hotspot turned on, all wirelessly. Since the update, when I attempt to turn on Hotspot in my S22, I watch as my car tells me Android auto is automatically disconnecting, then I watch as my Hotspot toggles off, then my phone automatically connects to my vehicle wifi and then my vehicle automatically turns Android auto back on. The Hotspot is never visible to my family to connect their devices to like it always has.
Its like there's a conflict with my phone and my vehicle using mobile data...or some automatic start setting. How do I fix this!?
I've tried to restart my cell, my car, turn off my phone wifi manually, change the auto start Android auto, but nothing has allow both the Hotspot and android auto to work simultaneously.
We do not have the vehicle wifi connected. We just pay for the Verizon data for Hotspot instead. Do I need to pay Verizon for less data and just pay for the onstar wifi data in my Chevy? This is extremely frustrating for a family of 5 that travels distances regularly with children's devices! Look out the window response isn't working for GenAlpha. ๐

Wish I had an answer for you, but have you tried Googling this problem?
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

We appreciate you raising this concern after your recent phone update. That is strange that your hotspot is auto disconnecting and trying to connect to the car wifi. Lets partner to find where the disconnect is so we can get you and your family back connected for your travels. When you go into your car settings, is the wifi disabled? Also, when is the last time you completed a network reset on your phone? This may help if you have not done one in a while. It will refresh your wifi, hotspot and network connections, please try completing a network reset from the phone then try connecting to the car again. Navigate to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset network settings. Let me know what happens after trying.
