S22 ultra call sound issue

Over the last two months the sound quality of the people I talk to is bad to worse.
This does not happen on video calls.
This does happen in safe mode.
People hear me but they are distorted to the point I can't carry on a conversation.
Does anyone have an answer for this? I'm in a small town and have to travel to reach a Verizon store.

S22 phones are sadly notorious for developing hardware issues ☹️ and it sounds like something in your phone is going out. If you have the insurance, see if you can take the phone to a repair shop and file a claim.

BBBmember, we share your concern with your device issues, we understand how important it is for your device to be working as expected. Is your device on the most up to date software? Has any troubleshooting been completed with you on the device? If so, what steps were taken and did anything improve the call quality even if for a short period of time?
