S4 factory reset itself HELP

My Galaxy S4 factory reset itself! Why?? I have lost everything except my contacts Evidently it wasn't backed up (I was sure it was). Is there any way to restore my pics, videos, apps, etc.? Help!!

Oh wow!! I am sorry for the shock this can create! Personal information is very very important! Lets work on recovery options right away! Have you backed up the device on your own in any way? Have you signed back into your gmail account? Did you use Verizon cloud or a cloud based back up solution of any kind?
