My new Samsung Galaxy 5 is burning through Data while on WiFi. I turn off the WiFi when I leave my house, yet when I open my phone WiFi things must be going on because it's burning data. I only use Data when I have WiFi available. What is Verizon Doing? What haven't they told us? I turned off the "automatic" Facebook video that would be moving when I turned on Facebook, but it seemed to be able to connect to Facebook and my email and everything when I have WiFi OFF. I wanted to look up an old email and saw it loading new email when I was not connected to WiFi. How can I turn this off? What is the deal?

I'm assuming you have mobile data turned off or have the phone in airplane mode (with wi-fi on) to ensure that you're not using data when not connected to wi-fi? This article may be of interest:
