That is too bad...im in phoenix and unfortunately the best carrier here is

Verizon. They are expensive though and they have excuses every time when I

question the high amounts. One of these days I will get frustrated enough

to the point I flip em off and tell them to sit and spin...thanks for the

info...

I know exactly what the problem with getting the update out is....  VZW no longer has their top employee on the job!!!

I can say I LOVE my Galaxy Nexus.  I have been with Verizon for a very long time now, but in the past, they have frustrated the heck out of me with updates, as many of you.  I still am with them, but have found many alternatives that I might be switching to.  I also have clients that I recommend carriers to.  If Verizon doesn't shape up, not only will I  be leaving, but also not recommending a lot of business to them...ah, but they don't care...really.  Its amazing to me that I see these forums, and many of you "seem" to be techy at least a little bit.  My answer is...<< edited to comply with >>  . I know its frustrating and you want to complain, but use some of your techy skills to fix it.  Society tends to "rely on others" to take care of them and solve their problems, rather then fixing things themselves.  The quality of cell phones has risen dramatically, to a point where you really don't need the latest and greatest phone to do what you want.  My Nexus does everything I want it to, and is pretty darn fast about it to.  Look at the Nexus 4.  In reality, the specs are lower!  I have 32 gig of memory, and the Nexus 4 only has 8!  No LTE either.  Its the "latest" technology, but is lacking a bit in the hardware.  The reality is, that because the "base" hardware on more expensive phones is really good, its the software that matters.  I am currently happy with 4.1 Jellybean, and the processing capability at least for now, is more then enough.  4.2 JB isn't that much of a leap forward, as I have it on my Nexus 7.  << edited to comply with >>

Believe me, I completely feel for everyone who is frustrated with the way they do business. But, I will just tap you on the shoulder and try to remind you that you are only handcuffed because you allow yourself to be.  Verizon is expensive, but just like everything, other companies are catching up to their technology, and finally there is a bit of competition in the air.  I have a second phone, which is H20 Wireless on an Iphone(ATT towers).  $25 a month for 1000 minutes.  Can't go wrong there, and I can use wifi on that phone without paying silly data charges.  So I don't have data while driving down the freeway on that one.  << edited to comply with >>

Keep venting to Verizon and the world about the crappy support, but in the meantime, fix your own problem, so you will be a happy person. 🙂

My 2 cents

Don't be surprised if your message is not edited by the VZW mod for obvious reasons with TOS but I am sure more than one here will agree with you, but that sort of thing is one of those things that will void the warranty on your phone.  Just sayan

I just have to laugh...  The massive level of either stupidity or craven lust for maximum profit with negligible provision of service makes where I work seem like paradise!!   And believe me, I live in a Dilbert world.  The funny thing is, to garner the good will of its customers wouldn't require a ton of effort on VZW's part.  An orangutan could run things better... They could keep soaking us, and we'd be grateful!

Truth is, none of vzw's crudware works on 4.2 anyway... Like that dumb*** Mobile Remote/DVR mgr.   You know, the app that went from two to fourteen Mb. W/o move to SD card.  The stupid remote works fine on my nexus 10, but the DVR mgr refuses to log in... Both work fine on my gnex...SAME CREDS for the DVR mgr.  If such things are the reason, JUST FRIGGEN SAY SO...WE'LL UNDERSTAND!!!

I retired from at&t back in 1997 and the corporate world has gone from bad in 1997 to worse since then.  After 1997 I worked for small companies who contracted back to at&t, Verizon and many others and I can see where it going.  Much of this is caused by liability.  No one wants to take responsible for anything in any way.  The more runaround that the customer has to do to get service or what the customer needs the better cause some just go away and try someone else very quietly.  A small few just stay around for one reason or another and keep complaining, these are the habitual complainers or sometimes they call them the trouble makers.  Most of the time customers are not considered smart enough to understand all these complicated answers.  I NOTICED THEY REMOVED CPGUY S POST AS I FIGURED WOULD HAPPEN!

You are right japetty, nobody wants to take responsibility.  This is typical in corp america though, because if someone wants to do the correct thing, there is huge pushback for change from upper management.  An easy solution usually exists to fix most problems, but its difficult to get people to change.  So sometimes they beat down ideas when employees raise a voice.  From my experience talking with Verizon representatives, they just don't know their own systems.  This is no different then most other companies...like Apple, Intel, and HP.  The problem is that you and I and everyone else gets to talk to front liners who have zero power, and have no way to transfer comments from customers to the people making decisions.  It would be so easy to fix the mess if someone would just listen.  There are lots of people who work at Verizon who would like to fix things, but their hands are tied too, just like us. Its interesting, because if you go past the second level of any situation you will find that "most" large companies are frustrating.  So, the best way to handle it is to try to get them to change, but in the meantime, take things in your own hands.  If you do, then your emotional soul will be free of handcuffs. 😉

Verizon is like a marriage, some good stuff, and some bad stuff. Figure out what you are needing, then go outside your marriage with Verizon to be complete, but you can still remain married to them. 🙂  haha
