In visiting Verizon store to see the new S10 and S10 plus, the Verizon rep pointed out to me that the S10s come with a factory installed screen protector. He indicated that it was no longer necessary to for the customer to install an aftermarket screen protector to protect the screen. In fact, installing a 2nd screen protector over the factory installed one might interfere with the front camera operation, and fingerprint detector, and would be unnecessary and not desirable. Is this believed by the community to be accurate?

With any new phone, being aware of the specs/features definitely goes a long way. We would be glad to help! The Samsung S10 line all include a pre-installed screen protector.
You can learn more on Samsung's site. https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-s10/design/#?
We hope this was beneficial.

So the film that came on my phone is the temp one that u peel off like the back one? Are you saying that the actual screen of the phone doesn't need a protector over it? I can't find a tempered glass for this phone

If you watch on Youtube the phones come with the factory one that you normally peel off. You can choose to leave it on until it wears out but I doubt it is there for permanant use. If you want one that works with the fingerprint reader the confirmed on out there and proven is the Whitestone tempered glass dome one.

I purchsed an S10+ about 3 weeks ago and there is a
film screen protector on it, but that is more for scratches
only. It's not tempered glass and will not protect the glass if
you drop your phone. I purchased a full adhesive screen tempered
glass screen protector from ebay for only $10 bucks and it works
It's a little bit difficult to put on but there are plenty of youtube videos to watch on how
to do so. The fingerprint scanner works with it and does not interfere with the front
cameras at all. Just a note, once you put the uv light on the screen to cure it, it cures
quick so make sure your protector is EXACTLY where you want it. Mine slid down a
little and I didn't notice and I put the uv light on it for a second and was cured.
Hope this helps 😃

In my experience, the factory installed screen protector is only 'okay'. I waited for a long time to upgrade my phone and finally splurged on a Galaxy S10+. I'm careful with my phones, and they last a long time. However, it only took two weeks to scratch my screen protector. I had a plastic part in my pocket with the phone and didn't realize it. Too late! The screen protector is scratched in one corner. Didn't take much to do it.
