I have a Samsung Galaxy S23+ that is no longer connecting to Android Auto. I did recently have a system update and wonder if that introduced the problem. I've been using the cable I purchased from Verizon the entire time I've had the phone. I thought it might be old or damaged, so I ordered a new cable with the correct specs to connect with Android Auto.
When I plug it in, the charging symbol flashes as if it's having trouble connecting to the cable and car. But when I'm using my regular charging cable with anything else, that doesn't happen. I can sometimes figure out how to get bluetooth to connect with Android Auto and get music. But I need maps and everything else that comes with Android Auto.
I've rebooted multiple times, gone through the settings for anything that might need adjusted or updated. Can't figure it out.
2018 Subaru Crosstrek, which has Starlink Multimedia, if it matters.
Anyone have any ideas?

I'm guessing you've made sure Bluetooth is on when connecting the phone to the car via the USB cable. If that's not working, does the cable feel like it's loose in the phone's jack? A bad connection at the phone jack will cause the problems with not wanting to charge or connect to the car's infotainment system.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
