My Samsung Galaxy S5 received the Marshmallow update (6.0.1) and Build number MMB29M.G900VVRU2DPF4 and Message (Version 6.3.3), the phone does not vibrate for incoming text messages. When I go into the sound menu (either through theside volume buttons or under Settings> Sound and notifications, the Notifications and System volume control options are grayed out. Also under Sound and notification the Vibrate when ringing option is checkmarked and green but also grayed out. I have been onmultiple websites and forums researching this proble, checked setting inside of the app, system, and sound and am still having this issue. I have also cleared the cache from the recovery menu as well. Is there a resolution to this issue? I have missed multiple messages and notifications due to this "glitch"!

Hey! Thanks for the advice. Verizon told me to contact Samsung. I talked with Samsung and they sent me to Best Buy. They did the upgrade at a Samsung booth and my phone seems to be ok.

GREGGT52,
We never want you to miss a message and are here to help out. To be sure, are you using the stock message application or Verizon Message+? Is the vibrate function working for calls and other notifications?

Updates are meant to improve your device GREGGT52. I regret to learn of the difficulties you are experiencing with your device. When did you update your device? Looking through our Software for the Samsung Galaxy S5, I am not showing Marshmallow update has not been released for the Galaxy S5 at this time. How did you download the software?
Thank You,

GREGGT52, I know you need to receive all of your texts. Lets work together to resolve this. Are you using Verizon Message + or the messaging app that comes with the phone?

GREGGT52,
Thank you for the information and working with us. I am confident that we can get this resolved. First, let's try replacing the battery: http://goo.gl/h136Go and then perform the Reset All Settings: http://goo.gl/kif3W5 (it will only delete your settings, nothing else). After all that. Please retest and keep us posted.

The marshmallow update was pushed through my phone the first week of June and killed my Galaxy 5 . It is dead and no one can fix it. Verizon store reps have told me this is a known issue but Verizon takes no responsibility. Very expensive update! Beware!

Thank you. This was over a month ago. I received the notification for the
marshmallow update and halfway through, it stopped and corrupted my phone.
Initially I could boot, but it wouldn't go past the Verizon logo, then it
went black and I've taken it to service repair stores. They say there's no
fixing it. It's dead. It was a month from my contract expiring and I
wasn't about to pay retail for a new one, so I bought prepaid phones which
Verizon wouldn't unlock for me for a month so had to return three phones
because they only had a two week return policy. I had a new phone number,
couldn't get texts, and was locked out of the Cloud until I got my account
back. Huge expense and trouble with countless calls to Verizon because of
the update. I tried to pay the early termination fee so I could go buy a
phone and Verizon said I'd lose my phone number which I since have found
out the FCC requires you to port my number. Verizon stores said it's a
known issue with the Galaxy 5 but Samsung doesn't care. I was told
yesterday that Verizon doesn't send updates and that it's Samsung so if
it's not Verizon, sorry I blamed you. There are more issues with my
payments to Verizon which they applied to the wrong account, then made me
pay twice and took a credit from me that your rep had given me for all of
my trouble, so I've had it.

I have been having the same issue since Friday. I plugged my phone up to my Mac just so I could download my pictures to my computer. A message that said it was from Verizon said I needed to repair and update my phone in order to use it on the computer. I clicked it and not even 5 minutes into it my phone said 'Software Update Failed'. It is still stuck on that screen. Even when I take the battery out, the sim card, the sd card, if I keep it plugged up it continues to say that. My phone won't even charge, so when I do the trouble shooting steps I have to do it right after I unplug the phone, but it does not clear the screen. I just paid this phone off. If this is a scam to make me purchase another phone, I'm not only disappointed, I am appalled. Someone needs to right this wrong. Who is going to be accountable for this??

I agree someone needs to be held accountable. You may be able to reboot
your phone by holding the power button while pressing the volume up button
and letting go about 30 times . You'll get a black screen with options to
reboot. Keep the power button pressed, but keep letting go and pressing the
volume up button. It may be best to go to a Verizon corporate store and
they can do it for you. Ask if they're a corporate store. They're better
trained. Good luck!
