I have just got the N3 on the 10th, i pre-ordered it from best buy. I have spent over 8 hours with best buy and Verizon trying to get my service to work everywhere. we have changed the phone and the sims card more than 3 times. No luck, Verizon is now investigating to see what the issue is. anyone else having this problem? i think i should just switch services since Verizon doesn't seem to care about their customers.

Would you claify this statement please "trying to get my service to work everywhere"
Are you saying it works in some places and not others? If you are then take note that there is not a cell phone in the world that will work everywhere regardless of service provider, so switching providers is not going to solve much.

When I say not everywhere I mean it doesnt work in my home, in stores, at my friends house, not even at school. It works at Walmart for some reason but it doesn't work in normal places that my old phone did. My old phone which was at DROID bionic still has 3g and service could that be the reason why? Also my friend has the N3 with sprit and his works where ever we go

If your old phone still has 3g and service that could very well be your problem. Go into your VZW account and see what phone is listed as active. Make sure only one active device is listed for your phone number. Make sure the old phone is turned off and remove the battery. If you are still having problems consider exchanging the phone for a new one. Your phone just might be defective. Before taking it back consider doing a factory reset.

Klue, I think that was a pretty lame response. I think we can all assume that he means he can't get service everywhere or anywhere he was normally getting service with his last device. Get a Klue man...

Hi Smhawkins,
No service is no good! I know how important it is to have a properly working device at all times. If you were to leave Verizon Wireless we would be devastated. Let's dig a little deeper. Which VZW team is investigating this issue for you? Have you had any recent updates to this investigation? Does the issue only occur when you are in doors at these locations? Keep me posted.
Thanks,
PamelaF_VZW

Well, they have closed my ticket because they said it was not a connection issue, there is something wrong with the hardware. I called yesterday and i spoke with customer support and they informed me that Verizon and Samsung are having a meeting to fix this issue because i am not the only one with this problem. she said she would get back to me today but has not yet. do you have any updates about how they are going to fix this issue, or should i just switch services?

I have opened I think 4 different tickets regarding this issue. They have closed all of them because Verizon thinks it's not their netowrk....umm it is their network. I get perfect service when I'm an hour away from my home.

This isn't just your problem, its a major problem for Verizon and Samsung. The note 3 is experiencing major network issues. Mine for example will work in one part of town and not the other. I can move 1 mile and the phone works. I have spoken to both Verizon and Samsung and they are aware. In Virginia, this is effecting every Note 3 sold. Its to the so bad my local Verizon is experiencing very high returns.. I have 3 Verizion phones and am able to use one when the note can't get a signal . I just purchased the note and gear. At this point I'm going to have to return both. I can't have a phone that you never know where it will work. I can tell you Verizon is saying a possible fix sometime in November

Yeah I live in Virginia Beach and I went to Charlottesville on Sunday. My Note 3 worked perfectly until I got back home. Ugh...returned, back to my Note 2 (which I actually still REALLY like and may just skip Note 3 altogether now).
I guess since my Note 2 is rooted, I'll wait for someone to port over 4.3 and the Note 3 ROM...haha I bet that'll happen faster than Big Red getting this problem fixed. This Verizon Note 3 rollout is just as bad as the Obamacare rollout

In fact, Verizon should give us all Galaxy Gear Watches to make up for this mistake

November came and went and still the Note 3 has major problems with the 1st order of business for a phone. It gets's no mobile signal in areas that no other phone has a problem. It's really not Verizon, at fault, but someone at Samsung/Verizon must realize the significant damage being done to the reputation of good companies by one faulty product.
I resorted to trying a network extender at home but, as my internet service is limited to 3mb, the call quality is horrible.
Right now, I am in the suffer till it's paid for mode. I don't know what else to do.

Brookebrookebrooke, we don't want you to suffer in silence! I'd love to help you improve service. Have you tried removing/reinserting the SIM card? This can force an update to the service, and can help to improve your experience. Please try this, and let us know if it helped to improve your service.
Thank you,

Tried all the suggestions. Still no relief. I don't feel like having Verizon send me another refurb and going through the transfer of all my apps and data again. I have a network extender but it's almost unusable on a 3mb DSL connection.
At home, I only use my Note 3 to tell the inbound caller I'll call them back from a "land line".
Wife's Galaxy S3 has no problem. My old Razr Maxx had no problem. The Galaxy Note 3 as a mobile device subset is a wonderful but tragically flawed technological marvel. As long as you don't need anything more than a WI-FI Phablet, you'll be pleased. If you need to make actual phone calls from anywhere other than an urban area, forget it.
I sincerely think these problems are related to the new and improved power saving circuitry built specifically into the Note 3 antenna. That Samsung would use us as beta testers for and unproven scheme is sad and telling. That Verizon won't lean on Samsung on the behalf of loyal paying customers is just as disturbing.
For those of you stuck with the Note 3 payment, a network extender will let you get and send texts and, at least, know when you've received a phone call. I wish I could go back to my Razr Maxx but gave it to my son-in-law... I like him to much to trick him into trading me.

Im not sure if this has been discussed at all in here. But for whatever reason, the VZ branded note 3 is coming shipped by default with "Global" as the network provider.
Go into settings \ Wireless And networks \ tap on more settings \ tap mobile networks \ tape network mode \ change to CDMA\LTE\EVDO.
Also make sure that mobile data has a check mark, and that your Acess Point Names is set to VZWINTERNET
Also be sure to reboot the phone after this.
You may also want to try popping out the sim for 2 min while the phone is completely powered down, then push sim backin, and walk around your neighbor hood for a bit.. Do this AFTER changing the above settings.

I have done all that and tried it all, nothing has changed. But maybe it will work for some people.

Me too. Look the problem is a very smooth blend of Verizon's screw up with their network and Verizon's sad excuse every time we try to activate our Note 3's. Trying to blame it on Samsung is a joke, and I'm offended that Verizon would think I'm dumb enough to believe this is a Samsung issue when my Note 3 clearly worked in another market perfectly. I don't and probably won't trust this device now at any point. I may as well wait for the Note 4, or go to Sprint They are currently rolling out the 4G LTE in my market and people are saying its great! So yeah I may go back to Sprint. At least I know their Samsung Note 3's are working!
