Samsung Galaxy note 3 no service?

I have just got the N3 on the 10th, i pre-ordered it from best buy. I have spent over 8 hours with best buy and Verizon trying to get my service to work everywhere. we have changed the phone and the sims card more than 3 times. No luck, Verizon is now investigating to see what the issue is. anyone else having this problem? i think i should just switch services since Verizon doesn't seem to care about their customers.

That's what Verizon tried to tell me, that it is a hardware issue which doesn't make much sense. Might have to look into the 4G LTE from sprint though.

I was at Best Buy today and the Verizon Rep told me that Verizon has no idea what is going on in terms of the service not working on some phone (mine) even though it activates on my account. She also said they may never be able to fix it.

Never? wow they must have really messed up on this one. Time to get a new service provider, thanks for the heads up. I'm done with Verizon, most of the reps i have talked to said they would get back to me but never did.

I have the same issue. After going to 2 tech stores in my area and 5 phone calls to Verizon the only solution they gave me was Verizon says its a software issue with Samsung and Verizon and they are working on an update but it will not be out until the first week in November. None of the stores had this information, I think it was the 4th person I talked to at Verizon who knew of the problem. The only solution they offered was to keep the phone until then, or return the phone with in the worry free period (14 days) or exchange it for a different model. I am furious with the lack of customer service with this issue. When I went to the stores I was told this." Verizon is having issues with Samsung and they are working on it. I have been told not to swap out phones or sim cards anymore give it a few days and it should work."  That was it.  I am really disgusted with the way they handled this.

Ok, so I still have a Note 3 in my possesion. I'm thinking of rooting it to see if that will help to solve the issue. Wish me luck!

Hey how many of you have a Verizon original number? One Verizon Tech specialist said that could be an issue. I ported my number over from Sprint a couple years ago, and now fro some reason can't get service on my Note 3. It's activated on my account, but I get no service whatsoever. In an attempt to try and problem solve this issue, last week Big Red gave me a TEMPORARY number and it worked. they said that temp # belonged solely to Verizon and that may be the reason it worked. Just a thought, so how many of you have a Verizon original # (not ported from another company) and are having this same issue I'm having.

I have a Verizon original number, its the same one i have always had, however since Bbhill said his works now i might have to try that. I did call Verizon today they said Samsung is going to release an update in November as well.

I have to tell the board what I did to fix the problem.  I was getting the same answers from vzw as everyone else, sometime in November there would be a fix.  Well I decided to experiment because of what one of the Verizon salesman had told me.  I decided to change my number of all things and now I have service at least everywhere I have traveled. Before I had service in Williamsburg where I purchased the phone and live but no service in Hampton which is 25 miles away.  Now it works in both places, I've also traveled to Richmond and Va. Beach and the phone has not lost service once.  Who knows why this worked. but at least I'm able to use the phone now.  I believe the note 3 is having MDIN issues or at least something of the sort.

Ok, I found a fix, yes I'll take credit...Smiley Happy

You have to activate your Note 3 on a NEW LINE OF SERVICE (on a month to month basis, no contract, Verizon should do this for you since it's their problem), then switch your old number to the note 3 and the new number to your old device, do not put the note 3 on your old line of service. It worked for me and now I'm happily using my note 3 while you suckers are still waiting.

Anyway after you port the number over to the note 3, you just need to cancel your old line of service. Voila! I'll be here all week and yes I take donations!

I have compared my note 3 signal to the signal on other Verizon phones. The N3 seems to always be about 20 lower. So in areas like Bellevue Michigan I have no signal but the person in the passenger seat can make calls on their iPhone. Comparing the N3 to the S4 on verizon the S4 seems to be in the middle between iPhone 4 being the best and Note 3 being the worst. Can someone working at Verizon simply look at the signal strength of the top 5 phones by setting them in the same spot on the same day at the same time - and then publish the result? "i5s -70, N3 -100, S4 -90 etc...?

good luck with that, they will say each phone is different.  I said the same thing.  I can be in the car with my daughter and no service where she has the S4 and full 3 or 4 bars of service.  The note 3 on Verizon is worthless.. wish people would see this before they make the buy.

I am having the same issues with my Note 3.  Someone can be sitting right next to me with a Verizon Motorola phone or iPhone and they have full 4G and I have No Service or 1x.  Can't anyone at Samsung or Verizon fix this?

Ok so my fix for activating the Note 3 on my account worked.....for two days only, then I lost all service again. Sadly I have given up on this device and Verizon. I'm back to my Note 2, and I'm going to stay there until I figure out which cell company I want to go to.

Still no luck? Maybe you should call again and talk to technical support. I called Verizon at least 4 times and on the 4th time, I talked to technical support and the next day it worked. They said they are releasing a fix but I do not know when sometime in November they said. But maybe he looked more into it since I told him I was very annoyed and the customer service was pretty bad.

DjBobby, we don't want you to go anywhere. I'm here to fight for this wireless relationship. Were you provided with a different sim card at any time while troubleshooting the issue on your device?

Yes we have tried maybe 15 different SIM cards and probably 8 different Note 3's. I tried at least 2 sim cards in each device. There is no solution to this problem thus far, now Verizon tells me I need to wait until mid Nov for a Samsung update? Yeah right... I doubt there will be an update from Samsung on this any time soon if at all. VErizon's answer is to give me a different phone number? It won't "work" on my number but it will on a different number?

I have that update and still have horrid cell signal. I never lost all signal on my way to work with my GNex, but with my Note 3, I lose signal for about 2 miles of my trip and have the wifi not staying connected even when I'm sitting 8 feet from my router at home (with no obstructions). The idea that because my number was ported over from Sprint 3 years ago is ridiculous. The number worked fine on all of the previous phones I've had. Someone has really dropped the ball on this.

Hi Sanglant13!

I don't want you to think we dropped the ball on this one, I'll pick it right up from here! You mentioned that you have an issue with the Note 3 in an area where you did not have an issue with the Nexus. In what zip code is this happening? Please provide some additional information so I can check this out for you, thanks!
