Samsung Messages RCS support

Hey Verizon, I think it's time to activate RCS support on your network so phones like the Samsung Galaxy can start using RCS with the native Samsung Messages app. These are flagship phones. Is the new S20 going to not be supported. If Google can take over and make it work regardless of the carriers, then it should be easy for RCS to work across all carriers with any messages app no questions asked. These are modern times with 5G coming out and we still can't use RCS? That's pathetic. Get with the times (and tech) You claim to have the best network? PROVE IT!!!!!!

You have it enabled on the S9 but that phone is "outdated" but it is the only one that supports RCS with Samsung Messages? The S10 and Note 10 should have been updated months ago. And now with the S20 series, they should have it enabled out of the box. This has been really poor customer service. I mean, my $5/month Tello service supports RCS for my kids phone.

Why not just install google messages and use that. Rcs works with that and any phone and any Carrier.

I guess since the s21 came out Samsung's plan is to can its own messaging app in favor of just using Google's so you win verizon you don't have to do jack but kick your feet up you lucky guys you. Apparently others are following suit lg, motorola, etc.

Brand new unlocked S21 ultra. Surprised and not surprised at the same time no native RCS support for Samsung messaging.  Yes google messages provisions correctly but pretty lame Verizon. This should be working out of the box. What is this the year 2000?

CharliFaye, our goal is to provide you with the best wireless experience. We are very excited about the prospects of 5G coverage as it expands. Eligible devices and coverage information can be found on the following web page https://www.verizon.com/support/5g-mobile-faqs/. We recommend checking that website periodically for updates.

Regrettably, we do not have any information on modifying the phone through admin menus, but we would be happy to troubleshoot any general device issues that you may be experiencing. We look forward to providing you with the most reliable network experience for many years to come.

I understand it takes time and the network has to be upgraded. Is there a viable timeline for it or should everyone just keep using Google Messages for RCS? if it is available for the Note 20U I still don't have RCS and it is kind of terrible since Samsung's native messaging app is superior to Google Messages when it comes to using phone features.

Thank you

Bmw58601, I honestly wish that I was able to provide that detail. Truly, we are not advised of releases and updates until the information is available to our customers. This is specifically because there may be delays along the way and we would not want to have you waiting for that date and then there be an unexpected delay. Still unsupported on the Galaxy S20. Google messages is not optimized for the S20. If you use it instead of Samsung Messages, the screen doesn't wake when a message is received to show a glimpse, even when the feature is enabled.

Testing is not an acceptable excuse. That suggests that Verizon cannot compete with the other carriers who already support this feature on these same devices. Verizon would essentially be admitting "we aren't able to test and enable a feature as fast as our competitors.
