Samsung S7 BOGO Scam/Fraud/Lies

Tried to take advantage to the S7 BOGO and still trying.  Submitted all the necessary info on 3/23/16 (well before the 3/31/16 cut-off) and added the line. So, I just keep tracking my rebate through the provided website.  4/15/16 I'm shocked to see my rebate is invalidated and a whole litany of problems; some of which are really weird.  But, through the chat message feature, the customer service representative is able to resolve all the "issues" and resubmits my rebate saying "all is well" and to just keep tracking over the next 15 days to find out when my rebate card has shipped.

Well, come to find out that my rebate is invalidated once again, around the end of April.  This time the reason is "your purchase information is not eligible for a rebate".  This makes absolutely no sense.  Contact the customer service rep via the chat feature and ask "why is my rebate invalid?"  The rep writes "your purchase information is not eligible for a rebate". Ummm...OK...WHY?  The rep writes that they "don't know why" and that all my information is submitted correctly.  The rep then "escalates" my submission to "upper management" and tells me to wait 15 days for a response.  I'm like "OK".

15 days later, keep on checking my status, still marked as "invalid".  Get back on the chat feature with customer (dis)service and ask again what is going on.  The rep doesn't know what is going on, cannot answer the simple question of "what is preventing my submission from being approved" and re-escalates my submission to "upper management"; oh, wait 15 days.

Wait 15 days (do you see where this is going?) and still invalid.  Get up on the chat, and, nobody knows anything.  They now say that the escalation of the submission is pending and once that is resolved I'll get my card.  They ask me to wait...guess how long...15 days and then contact them.  I ask to speak with a manager and the chat rep says that the only way to do that is to call the 1-800 number.  I call.  The person I speak with [Removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] : massive confusion, anger, blood, and guts.  The manager says that they will escalate the submission again and wait 15 days.

After that I called the regular Verizon Customer Service number (as opposed to the rebate help line) to lodge a complaint.  Describe my situation but to no avail.  The customer service rep records the complaint but cannot provide any resolution; you see, the rebate department deals with that...aghhhhhh!

15 days pass, no resolution.  Contact rebate people, but they are somehow more than useless.  I sit here in limbo, [removed], thinking about how T-Mobile will cover my switching costs and how I won't have to change out my sim card when I travel to Europe with T-Mobile's service.  I am writing to Verizon Wireless now to begin the mandatory arbitration process by filling out a "Notice of Dispute" form and sending it in.  I will then move to small claims court and continue as my attorney advises.  Who knows, maybe this will be a whole class action thing?

If anyone else is having problems, please sound off.

I haven't had any problems with the rebate process. Submitted all my paperwork online myself week of 4/25. Status was pending for one month then on 6/1 got an email from Verizon stating the rebate was approved and I would get the Visa card within two weeks and today that card arrived.

How did you submit the week of 4/25 when the offer expired 3/31?

Bought both phones from Costco on 4/13/16, just checked the receipt, submitted on 4/25/16.  The offer expired on 4/13/16, the day I bought them.

OK, looked it up and the offer was extended.  Good on you Klue, you don't got to go through the [removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] .

Your reply is exactly what I would have expected.

If you would have read his post you would have known that they did talk to the rebate center. We all have. Your post was totally worthless.

It's either just a damage control tactic to keep stringing us along while they spread the expense over a few more financial periods, or even the employees who want to help have no idea how jacked up their own company's process is.

Same issue here. I've submitted for the S7-APRILPROMO for the s7/s7 edge BOGO deal since April 22, 2016. My Check Status stated invalid, a new line needed to be activated. That was odd for me since I am new to Verizon and activated 4 new lines, so I called to find out what was wrong.  I was told they received all my required documents and to give them 15 days to get my rebates approved. 16 days I am still showing an invalid status. Called again and told they are not sure why it wasn't approved so my tracking numbers were being escalated to management for approval. Once again I'mean asked to give them 15 days to approve it. 20 days later still no progress and still no approved rebates. When I ask to speak with a member of the escalated department I only get transferred to a manager who only informs me that everything is OK and how the person my tracking numbers got escalated to will take care of everything and to give them more time. When I ask how much longer, the magic number 15 gets thrown in. I even offered to fax in all my documents again but they insist that will only delay things further and to just wait for the escalated member to approve it. So now it's back to the waiting game.

I have had the exact same experience, only my process began 04/12/16. I have gotten the invalid, wait 15 days response from both the online chat with the rebate center and 3 phone calls multiple time. I have also sent this information to Robin Roberts of Good Morning America, maybe if others do as well it will get investigated and the scam made public. I am so tired of being taken advantage of, I would have never purchased the two phones and added a new line if it were not for the BYGOF offer. This is a total scam and I hate to see that I am not the only one that this is happening to. Of all the responses to this I believe only one or two have actually received the rebate, those were probably made as token rebates just to be able to say that not everyone was scammed by this offer. I will not give up as I know they are hoping I will. Oh, and today's phone call guess what? Everything is good, give it another 15 days!

Same experience here started 04-27-2016.  Rebate was validated in pending then went to invalid.  Resubmitted everything went back to pending.  Then went back to invalid twice I have been at the Verizon store tying up there people making calls probably average to two and a half hours each time and it goes back to pending Verizon has lost control over this rebate having third-party people handle it after over 10 years with Verizon  Alltel before that I think AT&T is the way to go

Hi STOGEDOGGIE,

I'm so sorry about your rebate! We definitely don't want to lose you over that rebate. Have you called the number listed above, in order to escalate your situation? That would be your best bet, since that is the department that has all of the information you will need.

What a [removed]  I did want to post that I did receive my rebate thanks to the assistance of the management at my local Verizon store.  I certainly can't imagine that all the hoop jumping an ill-will is what Verizon wanted with this promotion especially since the rebate is paid. Just be persistent and keep it after the Rebate Center

I'm with you! They are stringing us a long month after miserable month thinking well get the "prize" that NEVER comes.  Let me ask you a question, are you grandfathered into an unlimited data plan?  Is that why they are being jerks?

I lost my grandmother and my father in the same weekend, so dealing with this [Removed] is really getting to me.  I've had arguments with my husband over this as well. I have contacted them at least ten times with promises that I would be refunded.  I'm so fed up.  This is intentional infliction of emotional distress, as well as FRAUD.  I have placed a complaint with the BBB yet I don't believe they will be doing anything either.  The BBB has given Verizon an A+ rating with only 2% positive feedback, 2% neutral, and 95% NEGATIVE feedback.  There were 287 reviews and 9,151 complaints.  Seriously this is ridiculous.  I have been on the phone with Verizon in tears, screaming, and passive yet nothing works.  I WILL NOT give up for me it is now principle.  It is my time, and my time is money, if they want this to get ugly and go to court, they will be paying for much more than a darn phone!  So to Desmona at the rebate center, Justin, Ayo, Sandy, Stephanie, Noel, Jeremy, Jasmine, Kendra, Penelope, and Glenn, thank you but no thank you for your lack of customer service.  Yes, I have spoke to that many representatives and that is a lot of time and money!  Verizon you need to get your act together!  I refuse to be strung along anymore!

I wish I had read these posts before switching from AT&T and getting the S7. I have talked to support 4 times - my claim was rejected twice for nonsensical reasons - each time the support person just tells me they'll escalate and get it paid out within 14 days. This is a complete scam. I'm going to raise a claim in small claims court. Total fraud.
