I have been having this issue for several months on my Galaxy S21 Ultra as well.
I missed some very important voicemails because notifications did not appear.
I have tried every "fix" I've seen online, and nothing is working. This may be a major bug. Can someone from Verizon reach out and try to fix for me?

I am also having this issue since late last summer. I've checked all settings. I am disappointed instead of giving a solution Verizon sends a request for individuals to private message them without posting a fix for the issue.
VERIZON PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE ...

We want your voicemail for your phone to work for you, devildg4671. We do ask our customers to communicate with us in a Private Message, because the issue you are having typically if something we need to address on our side, and not something that is done on the phone itself.
We have sent you a Private Message, please chat with us there.

add another to the list. I just figured out I hadn't received a voicemail notification since November 11th. I have even manually opened the VERIZON voicemail app a couple times over the past week or two, because I thought it was strange that I only had 4 old voicemails and hadn't gotten any spam voicemail or anything in months. Someone just told me my voicemail was full, so I was looking at the app again, and when I noticed I could manually refresh. I refreshed the VERIZON voicemail app, suddenly I had 16 'new' voicemails from the last 3 months. My samsung phone suddenly alerted me that my voicemail box was full, once I manually refreshed the VERIZON voicemail app. The last voicemail was from January, because that is when it must have filled up. But the VERIZON app didn't realize I had received 16 voicemails since nov 11th until I manually refreshed it, today. I got notifications as soon as the VERIZON app realized it had voicemails.
This is not a samsung notifications problem. All these people are reporting an issue with the VERIZON voicemail app not realizing that our VERIZON phone numbers have received voicemails until we manually tell it to check for them.
Why would I need to DM verizon support to get what is clearly a bug with your application or voicemail service fixed? Please just fix your poopy service. Customer support in this thread seems so great, just telling all these people to DM you to get this what is clearly a bug fixed.
This definitely used to work, I got notifications prior to November. You must have released some app update or something. Fix it please.
App version 17.1.00.15

Jtcft95, thanks for reaching out. We don't want you to miss any voicemails. How long has this been going on with your device? Have there been any changes to your phone when you noticed this being an issue (new software or apps)?

This started when I switched my phone from a Samsung Galaxy S9+ to a Samsung Galaxy 22 Ultra in December 2022.

That is certainly too long for this to be happening? Have we done any troubleshooting? We may need to check if the line is provisioned correctly for the voicemail feature.

@Jtcft95 ,
Thanks for those detail, although when you say that you reset the phone, what do you mean exactly? Resetting can mean a lot of different things so we do need to know specifics for that. As for your voicemail notification, you are referring to the app for Voicemail on your phone, or the voicemail itself? There's really a lot more to know about first so that we can help you further, so please let us know these answers.

Try this.
An earlier post with these instructions was deleted for some reason.
Settings>Apps>Visual Voicemail>Battery>Unrestricted.
Mine seems to be working since I changed it.

I've done a reset of my network settings and that didn't work. I still can't refresh my voicemail without generating an error.
I agree with what many have said, this issue is more than just a couple of phones and stop being so secretive about a solution. I'm still waiting to hear from anyone who has had a PM about whether the VM app actually has VMs come through timely.

I am having the same problem with S22 not providing me with a voicemail notification. Have had phone since November, 2022 and problem has been consistent. I have followed all of the suggested fixes.

Same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S22+. Some evidence seems to be pointing to a problem with the phone rather than a Verizon problem. I'll explain. My wife and I are both on the same Verizon account. She has an older Moto Droid Z-Play. I used her phone to call mine and leave a message. It connected right to voice mail and I was able to leave a message. However, when I checked later on my phone there was no voice mail message or even a notification. Then I used my phone to call her phone and leave a message. She received the voice mail no problem !
Another piece of info......shortly after I received the new phone I missed a call and there was a voice mail. I opened the mail and got a prompt trying to enable Visual Voice Mail. I followed along and then saw that the voice mail had the text attached but I was also able to listen to the voice mail. After this I was no longer able to receive voice mails. I am starting to suspect that this Visual Voice Mail is what messed up the overall voice mail app. Problem is I can't figure out how to disable Visual Voice Mail to test my theory. Anyone else know how to disable this ?
In fact, I saw a suggestion from someone yesterday to turn ON Visual Voice Mail, then turn it off and the voice mail notifications would appear again.

Thank you for reaching out. We are sorry to read that you are having trouble with your voicemail and we want to help. When did the issue start? If you turn off Wifi on the phone can you make/receive calls and browse the web? ~Roger
