hello,  my notification within my voicemail is on however I'm not receiving notifications when someone leaves me a voicemail

One more thing to note, I tried calling voice mail by dialing *86 and I found that there were new voice mails in the inbox. So the voice mail app itself is working; it's just not giving any notifications even though the settings say that notifications are turned on.

I am sorry to hear that you're having issues with your notifications for your voicemail is not working on your S22 since November 2022, daknox57. I realize it is important to be notified when a voicemail was left when someone is trying to reach you. Let's get some more details to see what is going on. You mentioned doing some fixes that were suggested.  Can you confirm the fixes you exactly did so we can know them? Also, are you able to access your voicemail when a message is left?

Thank you Ed. I tried to post a response but now I don't see it. I can reach voicemail via *86 and access new and saved messages. My phone never indicates that I have a voicemail. I have tried every fix in thread except for resetting the phone because I don't want to lose apps.

OK, so the "fix" I found was first updating the system, which I don't think you can control. Then get someone to call and leave a voice mail. The phone will show a voice mail notification. Click on it, then when it asks to subscribe to "Basic Visual Voice Mail", accept it. Don't click on "Call Voice Mail". After the Visual Voice Mail gets set up I had to open the voice mail app then hit "Refresh" and it showed my voice mails.

I tried again a little while ago. Had my friend call me. He left a voice mail. I looked at my phone but did NOT see a voice mail notification icon at the top of the screen.

Then, when I opened the voice mail app, the message AND the voice mail notification icon appeared.

For crying out loud, if you have a solution, POST IT. Stop asking everyone to PM you. I did that, and all I got was a suggestion to reset all my phone settings (not quite a factory reset, but still a big hassle). If you don't have a solution, ADMIT IT.

Same problem here for 2 months. S22 Ultra. 

Notification settings are all good. 

 

Voicemails don't even show up in my call log until after I manually refresh the voicemail app.

Like many, this didn't solve the problem. Everything is toggled "on" (in fact, the option to toggle "off" notifications is greyed out- so it's on whether I want it or not).

Again, like others, Verizon's lack of remedy here is negatively impacting my job hunt.

Need help fixing this immediately.

Update to post: Not sure if this will be helpful to anyone, but here's what I did...

Verizon suggested wiping permissions for all apps and resetting network connection. I wasn't chuffed about that plan, so I tinkered first.

I never used the default voicemail app - I would just long press "1" on my key pad and call the Verizon servers directly. Over time, I'd apparently accumulated 10 saved voicemails. I was still able to receive new voicemails, mailbox wasn't full, but was just never getting any notifications about them.

Today I opened the default Samsung voicemail app and saw something in the settings indicating there was a 10 message max for the app. So I archived the voicemails I wanted to keep to my phone - basically clearing off the Verizon server and the app.

This seems to have worked. I've had several people call me and leave a voicemail, and I'm getting alerts now.

Have the same problem with my S20. Sometimes takes a week before voicemails show up. Not just the notifications. Open the Voicemail app and they aren't there.  Then sometime later I get another call; caller leaves voicemail and lo and behold several old voicemails show up.

Yes, I did have the opportunity but there are no solutions to this problem on the troubleshooting of this forum. Also, it's a small nightmare in itself just to use this chat, message method. The field for typing replies appears and disappears along with everything I just typed. That's enought to anger anyone right there! Then when I hit submit - it askes me to log in when I was already logged in and then the login somply doesnt work so I have to start all over again - extremely frustrating experience - still cant get any help at all! Moving to a new carrier. Bye! - this is the 4th attempt with the back and forth sign in again and again - I am already signed in!
