Screen capturing & volume issues

I, like everyone, have been waiting for the nexus. I haven't gotten it yet because I wanted to see what people were saying.

I am especially concerned about the volume, some peole have said its not so good. I wear hearing aids in both ears and I am worried the nexus won't be loud enough. I'm still using the droid x with the volume set on obnoxious (by most peoples standards), but it works for me.

I was also wondering if this version (ICS) is able to do screen captures. Does anyone know?

Please and thank you.

Screen Captures - It does and real easy. Just press the volume down and the power button at the same time for about 2 seconds...... instant screenshots.

I think the volume is fine. I have a little high end hearing loss. I think it is a little less than my Droid X, but not too much. You might want to head to a Verizon Store to see a display model and try out the volume to see if it meets your needs

I have the Galaxy Nexus and the max speaker volume on mine is very weak too.  There are loads of complaints about this on the various forums.  I is definately a defect.  I'm hoping there is a software fix.  If not, I'm afraid I'll have to return it.  It's a great phone, but this serious defect in a basic function will cause many to pass on it.

From what I have read the up coming updates are suppose to address the volume issue....  At this point it seems to be a high priority so I would think a fix will be shortly...

ironically...

Both Versions of the Galaxy Nexus makes my bluetooth rediculously loud.  I have to turn it on BEFORE putting it in my ear.  As for the volume coming from the rear speaking I never bother with them with all my devices.  I like to keep what I am doing in the hush :smileyhappy:

Oh I so hope there is a fix in the works. I have been reading and dreaming about that phone. I can wait though. I can't use a blue tooth, but I do have an adapter for my car so that I can hear through the speakers. I wonder if the volume issue is a problem in that case....although someone did say about volume adjusting (or coming and going) during music play.

Does anyone know how the volume is when connected to external speakers?

I have no idea on that part, but it seems rather loud when using Bluetooth.  My other Android devices don't get that loud at full volume as the Nexus does at 1/2 volume.  I would assume it would be "louder" but until you actually try it then no one can really say.

I've only been able to execute a screen capture once, and that was more or less by accident.  Otherwise, every time I push both buttons I get one function or the other - usually the volume control.  That's a little frustrating.

I asked the question about screen captures because I had read on some tech review that the nexus could do it. I explored all the options for my droid x but could never do it. I don't have the nexus yet (and the volume issue may be a deal breaker for me, still have to get to a store to try it in person)... So I can't help with the "how".

The screen cap would be awesome though. Anybody ever read damnyouautocorrect.com? Thats the funniest website in the history of the world, ever, of all time :smileyhappy:
