I have a new Tab A (8). I'm trying to activate Messenger+. The only option I'm given is to enter a phone number ( with which to associate Messenger) and then use the tablet to scan a QR code that is sent to my phone. Here is the problem. My phone will not receive a QR code. Is there another method ( e.g. secure pin) to get this done.

Yes, and I tried sending the QR code to that phone, but then that was the phone that my tablet was linked to for messenger.

I want to link the tablet to my phone, so that text's sent to my number will show up on my tablet. If I send the QR code to my wife's phone, I simply get all of her texts. There must be a way to do this without the QR code mess.

We definitely want to make sure that you are able to set up messaging the way you want to. Is the phone you are trying to pair unable to open MMS messages at all?
