Setting a ringtone and email alert.

I took the memory card out of my old blackberry and put it in my Fascinate.  Picked a ringtone that I had downloaded from Verizon wireless website.  Set it as my ringtone, no problem.  Next day, it rings, went back to the default ring.  I go in to change it back and hit "save".  It won't save it.  Try it again later and boom, set the ringtone to the song again, no problem.  Hours later, it is back to the default again.  What is the matter with this thing?

Email, I have it set to sync every 5 minutes, and it plays a sound when I get email.  Sometimes I have to manually go to each of my email accounts and sync it myself to get the new emails.  No consistency either.  Sometimes it will do it, sometimes it won't.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. If you downloaded the ringtone from verizon with your Blackberry and now it is on the sd card in the new phone, you probably lost the drm rights to use the ringtone. I couldn't use the ringtones I downloaded from verizon to my eris after I did a factory reset after the 2.1 ota. I had to call verizon and they worked out a deal to allow me to download them a second time without me having to pay for the ringtones twice.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I purchased a ringtone from Verizon after I got the Samsung, and that ringtone is giving me grief just like the ones on my old sd card from my blackberry.

Try doing a battery pull and leave the battery out for about 5 seconds, place it back in and power the device on. As far as your device sometimes not syncing, you may want to check your sync settings and make sure you have it set to automatic push.
