Since update battery life is horrible and VCast Mgr is ruining my life

My Fascinate was recently updated to 2.2.1 and now the battery life is half of what it was. I could go an entire day without charging even though I would both talk and use the phone for checking email. 

 

Also, I have unchecked the vcast manager to not launch when I connect the phone to the PC but it still launches!! Any help? Verizon is blowing this big time...and I am very loyal customer so I am not happy.
