Sound for Facebook Notification

Does anyone know how to make the ringtone for the notification ring? I have changed the settings through my facebook app. so that my I should hear a sound when I get all notifications and my phone still doesn't go off when I get one. and my volume is all the way up. I don't want to get texts or emails when getting them I just want my phone to go off like when I get a text.

To set a notification tone for Facebook, go to Facebook main menu (It displays icons for New Feeds, Profile Friends, etc.) then tap menu, settings, scroll down to notification ringtone and select the tone you want to use for Facebook.

The settings are there, but from what I understand FB notifications aren't pushed under 2.1. The only way to get them under eclair is to have them sent via sms. Patiently waiting for Froyo...

I've done that and I've made sure the volume is up and still nothing

The only way that I know of to get FB notifications under 2.1 (Eclair) is to receive sms messages.  My understanding is that you need 2.2 (Froyo) to receive "push" notifications.  Hopefully soon...

 

Market apps - Facebook - Check the sys requirements..

 

In the mean time, you can go to a settings page in FB and choose the individual people that you want to receive sms messages when they make a post.  You can also make a selection to choose to receive a message if someone replies to a post that you've made.

 

That's the best we have until Verizon releases Froyo.  Samsung just released the source code, so hopefully it won't be too much longer. :smileyhappy:
