I've been noticing lately that my 4G speed is really really slow. Speedtests show around 0.04 mbps, so it's almost unusable. I did a speed test using another phone (iPhone 8+) at the same time in the same location and the speed was around 26 mbps.
What is the cause of this? Is there some problem with my phone? I've tried checking anything relevant in my settings but maybe I'm missing something.

We can relate to how important it is for you you to have speed by your side. Help is here. What city and intersection are you having trouble near? Are there other Verizon customers you know of having similar concerns? How are text and data services?

iphone vs android-------apples & oranges.
the best you'll see from the network is 5-12mbps & can be much slower.
What plan are you on? Was the other phone on teh same plan? You leave out a lot of crucial information
