Just got my Fascinate. It is a great looking phone. There is one thing I can't find a solution for which is how to sync it with my windows 7 pc. I had a omnia before and all my contacts are in outlook. But I can't find a way to sync fascinate with outlook. When I connect it to my pc with USB cable, my pc recognize it as another drive. Is there any software for either desktop or fascinate so that I can sync my contacts with outlook?

Android doesn't sync with outlook without 3rd party software like companion.
I looked into the Fascinate long before it came out. I read that it may come with some sort of it's own activesync. I guess that wasn't true if you can't do it.

Samsung KIES may work or may not work. I have not had the time to go through the settings of Galaxy S devices here. I know for a fact the Epic 4G doesn't have support for it. As for the other variants I heard some do and some don't. You may want to check it out.

There are many Outlook to Fascinate sync solutions available, depending on what you are looking for. www.syncdroid.net lists most of the software, what it syncs (calendar, contacts, notes, tasks, email), whether it uses USB or Wireless, the price (many are free), and more. There is also an overview of each product. You should find something there to suite your needs. There is also an entry for Kies. The trick is to first install Kies and then to install the Fascinate drivers to have a chance for it it work. Since there are other solutions available that don't cost an arm and a leg, I'd give one of those a try.

I don't know your particular situation on how Kies failed, but if it did install and just failed to recognize your phone, it may still work. You can download the driver from Samsung's site here:
You need to select the version of the Fascinate you are using. There are 2 to choose from. After you select it, you will be brought to the page that helps you with your phone. Select the DOWNLOAD tab and then you will see where you can download the USB drivers.
Again, I think the other software listed at www.syncdroid.net is so inexpensive or free that it is not worth your pain and suffering in trying to get Kies working. But its up to you. I hope this helps!

Don't really know if this works for the Fascinate, but since it is an Android phone, I assume it does.
Get a Gmail account. Import/synch your Outlook contacts.
Use the Google calendar to synch your Outlook calendar. Set the Fascinate (again, I don't know about the Fascinate. It works perfectly with a Droid 2) to synch with your Google account. Voila, you are syncing Outlook contacts and calendar. Once you have set the synch with Google up, you can keep working with Outlook on your PC. It will continue to synch.
I had a Droid 2 for a couple of days. I did this in the first couple of hours that I had it. I sent the Droid 2 back, it's touch screen and my fingers did not get along. Which is why I am in this forum, thinking of getting the Fascinate.

I think magicweaver is saying that you can use the Google Calendar program to sync Outlook to Google's online calendar and then the Fascinate will sync Google's online calendar to the native calendar app. I think he is also saying you can import your contacts once from Outlook into Google Contacts and then it can sync with the native Contacts app on the Fascinate (if I'm wrong, please forgive and let us know). The problem is that there is no sync in this case with the contacts in Outlook. The Fascinate only syncs with Google Contacts. The original question was how to "sync" the Fascinate with Outlook, so that solution will not work. You need a program to sync the Outlook contacts with Googles contacts to make the sync work. There are many such software solutions listed at www.syncdroid.net, like Go Contact Sync (free) and other paid solutions.
