Transferring music and photos to phone

I downloaded V Cast Media Manager. Connected my phone to usb on pc, and mounted. I choose Samsung Fascinate from the pop up. The Fascinate is listed in the nodes on the left. I drag my choice to the node. Pop up transfer log. Transfer failed.

Please help. My husband has the droid x. Transferred without a hitch. I also have a Samsung Tablet. Again transferred fine. Am I missing a step? A needed driver?

I don't use VCAST I connect my phone to my PC via USB and mount it and then I use file manager in windows to copy the mp3's to my phone.

  I didn't like VCast Media Manager because it does not transfer the playlists, only the music. I bought iSyncr and iSyncr WiFi from the market ($2.99 and $.99 respectively) and I sync my music from my PC using iTunes over my home wireless network. I never have to connect the phone to the PC.

 Best $4.00 I ever spent....

Don't use V Cast, there as stated below many more better choices out there

  I second the previous notes.  The VCast Media Manager is more of a pain in the butt that it's worth.  It looks like with the FroYo update, transferring files is just a bit easier.  Using the cable that came with the phone, connect one end to your phone and plug the other end into a USB port on your CP.  The first time I did this after the FroYo update, my computer downloaded and installed the Samsung USB driver (all by itself, WinXP).  Then, you get the Android Avatar on your phone screen with a simple selection to "start" the transfer process.  From there, your cp will treat your phone just like a removable drive and you can copy/paste or drag/drop your files back and borth.  When your done, select the "stop" option on the phone and unplug the cable.  Your phone will then run the media scanner process and your done!
