Trouble registering to pay bill

I need to register my phone so I can pay my bill online. The salesperson in the store said it was simple, but I cannot figure it out.

I'm using a PC, and what worked for me was to go to Verizon.com > Sign In (at the top right) > Create New Account. Make sure your service is working before you register for a My Verizon account, otherwise you'll end up with a guest account that can't have anything linked to it.
If it's for cell phone service, use your phone number to register. If it's Fios, you need to use the User ID associated with the Fios account. If it's 5G Home Internet service only, then use the "phone number" assigned to the internet gateway.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

If your service is active, but you are still unable to register on My Verizon, I did read from someone whose problem was their profile information was not completely entered into the system...I'm guessing whomever signed them up and took down the person's ID didn't do their paperwork correctly. I'd try live chat and see if someone can send you the link to finish setting up the needed details, and then you should be able to register on My Verizon.
If the issue you're seeing is anytime you login to My Verizon it gives you some message about "You'll get the full Account Owner experience when your service/device/etc. is active", then try making a totally new account using either your Verizon phone number (mobile service), User ID (Fios), or "phone number" assigned to your internet cube (5G Home Internet).

Hello JKauf55, we understand the importance of having online access to your account. We're disappointed its been difficult and still haven't been able to do it. We'd love to help resolve this, can you tell us what happens when you try to register?
