Turn Off 5G on S24 and ALL PHONES

Verizon apparently doesn't like their customers to have the freedom to decide what signal they use. I need to turn off 5g on my Verizon S24 so that I can actually have a working phone. 5G does NOT work well, drops calls, not to mention drains the battery fast. This is the worst signal setting ever and other carriers allow you to switch this easily, just not Verizon. I want a fix immediately. I also want Verizon to immediately cease this draconian measure of locking the phone settings for 4/5G.

Hi Matthew06. You are correct settings on the Samsung devices have changes and do not have the option to isolate one or another signal. Good news is we are here to help figure out the best options for you to stay connected consistently with the network coverage in your area. Please reply to the following private message to continue chatting more in depth with account specific details, such as were you are located.

I have the same issue. I travel for work and frequently need to switch from 5g to 4g. This will be the last Samsung device I'll ever buy if not fixed with an update.

It's not just Verizon, but Samsung disabled manual band selection last year. You could try using the dialer code posted elsewhere in other threads, but I have a feeling it won't work.
P.S. - If you want all the 4G LTE service you can possibly get without having to mess with your phone, it's called "prepaid". ๐ Might not be such a bad idea if 5G is bad where you are; not much sense in paying more for 5G if you can't use it.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
