I bought a used s20 ultra phone and used it on my Verizon plan for almost 2 years. I have requested it unlocked twice and Verizon refuses, telling me I have to activate it for 60 days!! I cracked the screen so I purchased a different used phone. By law Verizon is obligated to unlock but apparently nobody speaks English. A friend of mine wishes to use the phone with another provider!! Help now!! I have spent way too much time on something so simple.

If you used this phone for 2 years on Verizon, it should have already been unlocked long ago when you were using it. The unlocking policy says if you have the phone activated and used on the network for 60 days, the phone automatically unlocks and doesn't get re-locked later. Maybe it got shut down somehow when you switched your account over to the new phone and you need to ask for a blacklisting removal since CS ought to be able to pull up your account details and you could prove this phone is yours?
Unfortunately, with a lot of CS functions being overseas now, I suspect that when you called, you got someone who didn't know all the ins and outs and couldn't do all that much. You may have some better luck if someone from CS responds here and invites you to a live chat where they get into your account.

Hello, MelCahoon. Thanks so much for reaching out to us regarding the phone in question. I see you stated you purchased the device used. Where did you get the device from?

Hi everyone,
I have the same problem, I bought a Samsung S20 Ultra 5G on eBay.
I live in Italy and after inserting an Italian SIM, after 10 minutes of operation the network freezes with the following message as in the photo: https://i.ibb.co/mtXNc4W/Screenshot-20240306-105027-One-UI-Home.jpg How can I solve it?
I hope for your help

Hi, your problem is different than the other poster's. In your case, you've been burned and should try to get a refund from whomever sold you the phone. Verizon cannot unlock your phone remotely and according to the company's device unlocking policy, you have to use the phone on Verizon's network for at least 60 days before it will unlock. Their network is only in the US. I have seen many threads from people overseas who have been taken advantage of this way. Please pay it forward and tell others to not buy phones from unknown individuals or unknown small businesses.
