I think we can lay the blame on our Carrier not Samsung.
Verizon needs to wake up.

I wouldn't be so quick to point the fingers at Verizon, if you follow Samsung on Twitter, alot of people are asking about the 2.2 update for the Fascinate, and the response is always, "We have no ETA on when it will be released, but when we know, we will tweet it".
If Verizon was holding it up, don't you think that Samsung would have everyone question the carrier? Plus, the Galaxy S getting these updates are the non-US markets....

For the first time sience I've been with Verizon I can say they dropped the ball on this one. It's 3-11-11 and still no Froy 2.2. I get the run arounds from there reps I am sure they don't know whats going on.
According to the Adobe page the Samsung Fascinate is a 2.2 phone check out the link: http://www.adobe.com/flashplatform/certified_devices/smartphones.html#samsung
You can't help to feel cheated, then I got even sadder : ( when I read on phonescoop that Adobe is going to Push Flash 10.2 to all Android phones starting March 18th to "yeah and the final blow", Android 2.2 Froyo, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and Android 3.0.1 Honeycomb devices. I gues my pritty but ok phone Fascinate wont get it.
Awww well, I might as well just gotten the iPhone 4......

the telus fascinate, a gsm phone, is 2.2. and even these fascinates have 2.2, just not officially. verizon and samsung didn't like the battery life hit for 2.2, so they are trying to work on it. companies like motorola and htc don't care about battery life, so they just push the update, anyways.
adobe is accurate.

The information I keep reading is on how 2.2 sucks the life out of the battery. Why do you think this is? I mean seriously the battery life of most of the smart phones out there are really just substandard. Adding an update that is going to shoot my battery life to something worse is not my idea of a great plan.

My battery is fine as long as I have standalone gps disabled. For some reason it isn't allowing the gps to sleep when it's not in use so it's just constantly running.
