Using Skype and Data Charges

 Does using Skype use MBs against data plan? I went to use for first time and had to turn off WI FI for it to work and switched to 3g  when I used it

Yes, data used over 3G counts as data against your allowance.

So I use Skype so I dont use minutes and they get me by using data which I am ok with that now as I have the unlimited but wanted to cut back to the $15.00 plan but wont be able to because everything you do goes against minutes or Data.. Thanks for the come back..

If I'm not mistaken, the Skype version that comes pre-installed on Verizon's phones routes skype calls over Verizon's 1x voice network and not the 3G data network which is why wifi doesn't work.
