I'm planning on a week's vacation to England next year and have been researching the best way to use my Android phone. From what I'm reading it's cheaper to get a sim card over there and use it vs the Verizon Travel Pass, however, although my phone is compatible with the British sims, there's the issue of locked vs unlocked phones. Will Verizon allow the brief unlocking of a phone for travel like this? How do I tell if my phone is locked in the first place? Thanks. It would likely cost me about $20 less to use the British sim card.

Great question. Verizon will unlock your device automatically after it has been active on your account for 60 days. ~Peter
