VZACCESS?

I have been connecting my HTC Imago to my laptop as a modem using VZAccess Manager software for some time.

I am moving to my new Samsung and would like to know how to connect it to my laptop as a modem as well.

Tethering was suggested, but I'm not familiar with that.

Can you help?

Thanks...

There are a couple ways to do it, both will cost you more money.  Verizon has hotspot plans for their smartphones that you have to sign up for to use the feature.  Then, you can go to your homescreen and, assuming it wasn't changed too much in ICS, press menu>settings>wireless & networks and there should be hotspot and internet connection mode options in there.

"Tethering" is what you've been doing.

On the Galaxy Nexus, go to Settings, More (in Wireless & Networks), Tethering and Portable hotspot, and you'll see the options for "USB Tethering" (what you've been doing unless you were using bluetooth) and "Portable WiFi hotspot".

Make sure your Verizon account includes tethering and/or HotSpot service.

I just gave this a try and didn't need to use the Verizon Access Manager.  I enabled USB Tethering, Windows 7 automatically installed the drivers for the Galaxy Nexus, and I was connected to the internet through the phone with no additional steps.  I don't even have Verizon Access Manager installed on this computer.
