Verizon App Manager Battery Usage

Moto Z4, Android 10. Recently, both my wife and I have had battery issues. Our batteries will go dead in 6-8 hours sometimes. In every case, when we look at the battery usage, Verizon App Manager has used anywhere from 20% to 50% of our batteries. Why is this so, and how can we correct this issue? I understand we can disable this app, but nowhere can we find any information on why this app is needed and if any steps have been taken to correct this usage issue.

I have disabled the Verizon App Manager. Battery life is back to 1-2 days per charge.

We definitely want to make sure that you get the most out of your device's battery life. Verizon App Manager is an application that is meant to help you manage your Android apps and assist with their installation. It sounds like this running in the background has increased your battery usage recently. Please tell us, have you tried disabling Verizon App Manager through your app settings: http://spr.ly/6605PYbQf If so, does the issue continue?

I have not tried to disable Verizon App Manager because I don't know, and can't find reference to, what won't work if I do so. What will I have to do manually that Verizon App Manager does in the background?

I have executed a Force Stop when I see it draining the battery, but by then, I've usually lost a significant amount of battery charge.

Thanks.

I should add that executing a Force Stop significantly reduces battery drain.
