Verizon Safe Browsing Disconnects Wifi from Internet

When I turn on Safe Browsing and Always on VPN, my home Wifi says connected without internet. When I turn off Safe Browsing, my Wifi reconnects with internet. All my other devices, computer, TV, etc. never lose connection. So it is just my phone and only when Safe Browsing is on.

We're sorry to read that you're having issues with the VPN. We're here to help. Have you tried clearing the Wi-Fi connection from your phone, then adding it again? ~Peter

I tried forgetting and reconnecting to my network.  It worked for a few minutes, then went back to connected without internet.  My phone is the only thing doing it.  Still have to turn off safe browsing to use my own network on the phone.

We understand your concern with the continued Safe Browsing issues on your device. You shared that forgetting and reconnecting it back worked for a few minutes, but then the issue returned. Have there been any other troubleshooting steps completed? We want to make sure we don't ask you to repeat anything that you have already tried.

Thanks for the reply.

I've tried rebooting my modem/router,  restarted phone, deleted cache and data from Verizon app.  Can't remember anything else. 

I am wondering if it's a setting in my router that isn't allowing the VPN or the VPN isn't allowing the internet connection via my router.  I don't like to mess with router settings any more than I have to though.

I don't know what there is to set up that could be done differently.  The app gets installed and you toggle on Safe Browsing.  I don't  know why it blocks my home internet connection and apparently y'all don't know either.  The feature doesn't justify any more of my time trying to troubleshoot it.  Thanks anyway.
