One of the reasons I can think of is that being a "beta" program before all the kinks have been worked out, possibly it had a negative effect on Verizon's service they didn't want to deal with.

I wish to know this as well. if it had any negative effect on their service (doubtfull) that is for samsung to deal with. it is Samsung's beta program. I am very disappointed in this totalitarian style of doing things. this is a public samsung beta and verizon should not but in and shut it down. I like the network but like the way all the othere carriers treat their customers in regards to phones. We purchase these phones and should be able to do what other people on other networks do. it doesn't hurt verizon in any way. let us continue with the beta program. We should have nougat already but samsung is slower than the rest of the phone makers.

Then switch to one of those other carriers. Problem solved.
