Verizon note 10 plus 5g is a scam

The note 10 plus is a scam. A money grab by a corporation. They put out a device they knew would not be compatible with their future plans for 5g just to say they were first. All the other carriers shipped X55 verizon used the outdated X50 that is not capable working with their nationwide 5g. I called verizon chatted with verizon was lied to saying nationwide would be supported by my device. That is absolutely not true because the X50 does not support DSS which is used by the new nationwide 5g.

You are correct: The 2019 Verizon Note 10 + 5G shipped with the X50 modem and chip. It was not ready for widespread usage. It is useless for the great majority of 5G customers. It only provides access to the Ultra band that is in less than 1% of the US. Let's try to get a reasonable solution from Verizon.

Here is the screenshot I took of the promise of both 5g nationwide and UWB. Pictures is worth a thousand words.

I'd be on board if there is a class action lawsuit.

Verizon Agent
thanks. First thing that i noted was that your device is
not physically able to get the 5gNationwide network.
the S20 which came out a year later, they can. they
have the hardware that is capable of doing so. yours
predates that
It will have access to 5G UW when you are in one of
the areas where it is offered.
at present this is usually like downtown or sporting
arenas in the cities iti s in.
Happy to check the map for you to confirm you
you get 5g UW at this location. Are you at the home
address on file?
You
Should ireplace my device
*not upgrade
Yes
Verizon Agent
I would not because it would be the expense of
upgrading to a new phone for no real world benefit,
the 5gN network at present is only slightly faster than
the LTE network.
your area doesnt have 5G UW yet so that is why you
are not seeing 5gUW on the screen and see 4G/LTE
instead.
You

To be totally honest the only reason the note 10+5g hasn't had an update is because we already paid for the service that wasn't provided......hence why they want you to buy the new phones!!!!!   HUSTLERS!!!!   I Have Been a customer for 19 years and never been messed up and not kissed like this!!!!!

The Note 10+ is a ginormous joke!  I stupidly trusted the BestBuy Geek mgr. when I was upgrading from my old Note8 (which was an AWESOME phone, but under Sprint)  Telling me this was "the next best to the Note8 (absolute lie)

Nothing but garbage

Still no 5G Nationwide for my Note 10+. They told me it would work in a few weeks a month ago. I'm reporting them to The Washington State Attorney General.

I just called Verizon and got the runaround.

They have no intention of making this right. The only option I got was to trade in my Note 10 plus 5g (that isn't a usable 5g phone) for a Note 20 Ultra for over $600.

Basically Verizon messed up me on the 10 plus 5g and wants to Note mess me again.

So much for being a long time Verizon customer... maybe it's time to move AT&T especially if they aren't going to make this right.

I received the same run-around. I am in for a class action.... I got shafted pretty hard with 2x Note 10 5g.... They promised me this was going to be supported and was the upcoming thing when I bought it on launch.

I agree, has anyone initiated a class action bc I would definitely be interested in joining. I bought my note 10 plus 5g in 2020 and it's the same thing as the 2019. I paid that extra money specifically for accessing 5g. It appears that will never happen, how can verizon mess us like this, and then have the nerve to suggest I buy yet another new phone?! This is the definition of false advertising! Unbelievable verizon. Time to start shopping for that new phone I guess, just not here.

Seriously not happy about this.   I live in Columbus, Ohio with 5G and have

stood next to someone else and watched them get 5G !!   I payed $1300 for

this phone with the knowledge it was able to use the 5G network.  Looking at my

network options, I don' t the ones listed in the Note 10+ 5G help.  I only have

Global, LTE/CDMA, and LTE/GSM/UMTS ... no mention of 5G.  Oh and the

trade-in for this is a measly $289.

I have every update that has been pushed down to this phone, so I can also

verify it does not make any difference.

I've been with Verizon for a long time, since 1991 to be exact when it was

CellularOne here (trusty Motorla Flip and Startac days)..  and seeing this,

very well may have been the last straw.. 1!

Yeah once I found out about this I jumped ship and went to T-Mobile. Verizon you may absolutely go f*$& yourself. I refuse to pay another dime.

They want to scam and cheat me well they're on the hook for the rest of what I owe on that phone.

Highly recommend switching to T-Mobile btw

What if anything did verizon do for you or for anyone? I am absolutely LIVID that I have been paying for a 5g plan for over a year and I have a device that cannot connect faster than 4g PERIOD POINT BLANK. I moved from Verizon from straight talk for ONE reason, to gain access to 5g. At the time this was the one and only 5g phone for sale. I moved my service, paid over a thousand dollars for a phone and 140$ a month from 45$ a month to be lied to and scammed Hook Line and Sinker. I operate a verizon business account separately from my residential service plan with Dozens of lines and I plan to cancel All of them and make the same reccomendation to all of my customers. I am an account administrator on a number of VZW business accounts for client's whose IT services I manage and I intend to move every single client I can away from Verizon if they don't make an effort to make this right. This is The most egregious case of false advertising I have ever seen in my life and its far worse than Volkswagen getting caught lying about emissions. Absolutely Disgusted I wasted thousands of dollars in 18 months on verizon services for 5g service plans and hardware that only supports 4g which you can get on straight talk for 75% less per month. Verizon Lies and commits theft on its customers and Could care less when you bring it to their attention.

  • Sickening.  The only 5g phone that's not on the  list of 5g phones.  I just got a software update,  and have hardly no network connection AFTER going to Verizon and getting my 5g sim card a year and a half of using the 4g sim card that came in the 5g phone.  Really ridiculous.  Now they aren't making Note10 any more,  oh and they're not supported in the network.  They told me to upgrade. Support told me to do a factory reset,  or a network extender All of which sounds like a shotty means to an end . This was top of the line less than 2 years ago,  now obsolete? and never used the 5g sim card? sounds like a racket to keep me wrapped up 2 more years in monthly phone installment payments.

I also have a note 10 plus 5g and it does not work at all. I can't call text or use internet. I rely on public wifi and the very rare occasion of 1 or 2 bars giving me a one text send moment. I have been told to get a new Sim card and got the 5g. Then I was told the device itself is the problem and has broken antenna. Then another representative told me there is an outage in the area of Orlando. I have yet to be told what exactly is going on. I am currently browsing other phones under another provider.

Absolutely correct! I spoke with both Verizon and Samsung about this problem.  Even though the "about phone" in the device calls it 5G, it is not a 5G phone! There was supposed to be a software upgrade that would allow it to function on their 5G network that was never done. We paid more for the supposed 5G phone (about $200.00 extra) and pay an extra $5.00 monthly for non-existant 5G service!  I managed to get a $75.00 refund on my remaining balance because of this foul up, but it really was false advertising and false claims on a product.

We always want to ensure you have accurate information about your device. I can assure you the Samsung Note 10 is 5G Ultra-Wideband compatible. This network is available throughout the nation in many major metropolitan areas. Over the last couple years we have also developed other 5G technologies like 5G Nationwide that offers speeds similar to LTE but with enhanced tech and the 5G C band spectrum. The device is 5G UW capable in areas that have this coverage. We can also review any available trade-in offers to help you recoup value from the phone once paid off to get the latest equipment.
