The note 10 plus is a scam. A money grab by a corporation. They put out a device they knew would not be compatible with their future plans for 5g just to say they were first. All the other carriers shipped X55 verizon used the outdated X50 that is not capable working with their nationwide 5g. I called verizon chatted with verizon was lied to saying nationwide would be supported by my device. That is absolutely not true because the X50 does not support DSS which is used by the new nationwide 5g.

You are correct: The 2019 Verizon Note 10 + 5G shipped with the X50 modem and chip. It was not ready for widespread usage. It is useless for the great majority of 5G customers. It only provides access to the Ultra band that is in less than 1% of the US. Let's try to get a reasonable solution from Verizon.

The issue is that they do the background checks and add bloatware enough where they are every bit of as responsible for standing behind their claims. They were in complete control of how they marketed this and what 5G network they decided to rollout. They led us to believe they were full bore on rolling out 5G solution that would work with this phone, but they weren't. They misled and sold these phones under the premise through their advertising that they were "doing 5g the right way" which they then about faced on effectively bricking their own 5G capabilities on their devices. It was bait and switch.

My model # is SM-N976V. I want a full refund for this phone and I'd like to cancel this contract. You take the phone back and/or even buy it from me for the remaining balance on it. I just want to walk away from this company.

Bbrowning911, to learn you're having trouble accessing 5G UW is unsettling. It's never our goal for you to feel this way after working with us, and we wouldn't want to lose you as a customer. I've sent you a Private Message to look further into your account and device concerns.

Verizon,
I too have this same issue, but because the phone was bought in 2019, you refuse to do anything about it!!!! so I'm out 1200 dollars for something that NEVER worked as advertised... I will be leaving Verizon once our phone is paid in full.

As a valued customer, your concerns are our concerns and we'd certainly regret losing you as our customer. Verizon takes protecting our customer's personal and account information very seriously and we're here to help you in any way we can. We've noted your reference about having purchased a device in 2019 and that you're "Out $1200 dollars for something that NEVER worked as advertised." That's certainly not the way we want you to feel about Verizon and we'd be more than glad to investigate this matter for you. Can you tell us more about this matter? What exactly happened with your device? - RobertC_VZW

I bought my Note 10 5G thinking I was future proofing myself. Paid extra for the 5G capabilities.
Just upgraded to 5G plan, and was wondering why my phone wasn't getting 5G.
Now I'm reading that the phone was never going to work on the network, and I'm stuck with a phone and plan that don't work?
Bring on the class action lawsuits. Have been a dedicated customer for 13 years, and I'm looking to get out of this mess. This is ridiculous.

I'm on the same boat as you about buying this phone for future proofing purposes. Paid an extra few hundred dollars for nothing. I've been with Verizon for about 17 years and never thought about leaving until now. I'll give them one chance to fix this. If they won't (because they definitely can if they want to, but the question is will they?), I'm taking me and my 4 lines with me to T-Mobile.
I'll definitely join the class action lawsuit. I feel totally scammed by how they marketed this phone when it first came out.

I am reading an entire years worth of these posts and getting a good laugh. You all must be much younger than I am, not that you have to be that much younger to remember when there was no such thing as LTE, and it became a brand new thing. Manufactures and carriers sold LTE phones long before LTE was widespread. It wasn’t until 2013 that I actually jumped on board with a smart phone with LTE and by then it was a pretty common thing all over Connecticut.
So here’s what happened. In the end of 2019 a lot of things hit the fan that weren’t supposed to. They had this pandemic which prevented a lot of things from being manufactured and shipped to the United States that would have sped up 5G service and the retirement of 3G. More than a year and a half later things are still a mess. Huawei, which provides a ton of electronic gear to upgrade towers, became a banned brand. None of their product was being shipped to the United States which delayed upgrading towers significantly. I’m sure if we ask Verizon how far the Huawei ban and the pandemic set them back, they would probably say it’s at least two years. Had those two things not happened your 10+ (And mine, I own one) probably would have a network to connect to.
But poop happened. That is something that Samsung and Verizon could not have predicted when they planned and built the phone long before it was sold in August 2019.
I’ve been saying all along that what we need is more LTE. 5G is a 6 lane Highway where you need it, we don’t need a 6 lane Highway in most of the United States we just need another couple of LTE towers that will carry service into the suburbs and rural areas. But again, Huawei . . .
You see the real problem is the United States became highly dependent on one Chinese company to produce most of the electronic parts that we rely on for communication. Seriously if China or Huawei dropped off the map tomorrow we would lose the ability to do most of what we do now. Now if only we had a leader in the United States that said that we should be depending on our own products and not on foreign imports all the time. Hmmmm.

I have this same phone and I feel completely scammed and I want to cancel my entire plan if Verizon if Verizon isn't willing to work with customers who feel completely taken advantage of. We purchased a 5g phone with no 5service available and we paid a premium for it!!

falcovzw, getting a new phone should be an exciting time. We certainly would not want for you to fee like this. Just to clarify, are you currently in a 5G area? Keep in mind, we currently have two different 5G options. 5G Nationwide will run similar to our 4G/LTE network and is available in more locations nationwide. Our 5G UW (ultra wideband) is our new and faster network. This one is currently located in certain areas. You may read more about our 5G options here:

Samsung didn't sell me the phone, Verizon did. Verizon advertised my Note 10 + as a 5G device, it's really not!

I've tried. Their only solution is for customers to pay more, loose their discounts, and pay upgrade fee.
