The note 10 plus is a scam. A money grab by a corporation. They put out a device they knew would not be compatible with their future plans for 5g just to say they were first. All the other carriers shipped X55 verizon used the outdated X50 that is not capable working with their nationwide 5g. I called verizon chatted with verizon was lied to saying nationwide would be supported by my device. That is absolutely not true because the X50 does not support DSS which is used by the new nationwide 5g.

You are correct: The 2019 Verizon Note 10 + 5G shipped with the X50 modem and chip. It was not ready for widespread usage. It is useless for the great majority of 5G customers. It only provides access to the Ultra band that is in less than 1% of the US. Let's try to get a reasonable solution from Verizon.

I also have this problem and I'm very upset, been a Verizon customer for well over 10 years and that's about to change. I had called about this issue about a month ago, and was told by their Tier 2 tech guys that it was going to roll out in an update. Now I'm finding out that an update can't solve this as it has the wrong hardware.
Thanks for not helping Verizon...

Worse yet, they put me on a plan that can't even access 5G and they won't allow me to add it (ultra wideband btw). They sold me the phone with a plan that literally CAN'T add on the only 5G that works with the phone, and instead they are trying to force me to upgrade.
Agreements to waive class actions are rarely enforceable, although the mandatory arbitration clauses here are in play. Anyone else thinking of taking this to the next level? The fact that they sold me this piece of garbage phone, that they won't allow me to root or access the fastboot / boot loader on, that they called 5G that doesn't work with their nationwide 5G, with a plan that can't work with the only technology that the phone does work is criminal.

I also have the note 10+ 5G and am feeling scammed. Totally unacceptable on Verizon's part. I spent several days and even had a 5g Sim card sent to me and still can't access 5g.

Horistic I believe you and the other Note 10 5G customers have a case for not getting what you could reasonably expect. But I have to ask did they charge you $10 for a new SIM at a company store, one run and staffed by Verizon, or the much more common third-party shop. I ask because I've never heard of charging for a new or replacement SIM, at least when provided directly by Verizon. I have a Note 20 5G Ultra and I had to replace my old SIM that was in it to get the nationwide 5G. There wasn't any cost.

I have an early 2019 Samsung Note 10+ 5G and have never been able to access the Verizon 5G network. After a little investigation I learned that the phone I have is not capable of 5G only 5G Ultra because of the incorrect Samsung chip set, Qualcom x50 modem instead of the x55. So, for the last two years, I paid a premium price for the phone, $1,300.00+ and payed for a 5G plan that would never work. Tried talking to Verizon Customer Service and was led down the typical rabbit hole with the only thing they could do is upgrade me to a newer phone at the normal upgrade rates. I was intentionally misled and lied to by Verizon. The good news is found a solution, yesterday I cancelled my Verizon Samsung watch, mobile hotspot and when I return from my current trip I will be transferring my two remaining phones to another cellular provider.

Guys, I have been on PM all day with Verizon and they clearly do not understand. They must have some memo saying the Note 10+ works with 5G, but I can tell you that mine certainly does not. They have also refused to escalate my complaint for me. I have asked them one more time to do so.
I travel frequently and it has never worked in any big or small city since the day I got it in Sept 2019. Even a warranty swapped device last month did not make a bit of difference.
I feel our only recourse is to follow up with filing a BBB complaint here: https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started
I just filed my complaint with the BBB and am hoping for some sort of resolution. Please do the same or we will get nowhere. Sorry Verizon, I love ya, but this is unacceptable.

I also have not been getting any type of 5G connection. Despite Anaheim having 5G UW. I don't connect to either 5G networks while in Anaheim. I sense a class action lawsuit coming on...

Hey, MWJamesLDS, are you still having trouble with 5G UW? The Note 10 is not compatible with 5G Nationwide https://www.verizon.com/support/software-updates-5g-nationwide/ .
We would be happy to help take a look! Did you use a new 5G SIM card when activating your phone? Also, are you currently on a plan that includes 5G UW?

I have the same issue and feel completely scammed! I brought my note 10 plus 5g last year in November and changed my plan to a plan they had that was 5g capable when they rolled out 5g here in Kansas City MO. Verizon told me KC would have it before end of 2019. Lies, as they just got it in November. Was on the phone with Verizon and all the reps stated the same runaround about my phone is 5g just doesn't show it and "you have to upgrade again to get 5g". I have been with the company for over a decade but I feel this is my last year with this new scam company. Verizon has changed for the worse!

In the screenshot provided above it indicates that Ultrawide (UW) also referred to as nationwide is not currently supported. Here is a link: https://www.verizon.com/support/samsung-galaxy-note-10-plus-5g-update/ to stay up to date with changes about your device, and when 5G UW is available.

Mine does not work either! I've been with Verizon for many, many years and I feel like this is a huge s cam; and while their service is great... their prices have just gone nuts... after all these years I'm so fed up we are going to switch over to T-Mobile!

It’s not false advertising, if you were in an area that had 5G millimeter wave your phone will connect to 5g. The type of 5G that your phone is capable of connecting to is only available at about 1% of the United States. Verizon 5G in general is far less populated than AT&T or T-Mobile.
I wrote a long post one page back which explains why. In a word, ‘Huawei’.

I'm def pretty good at dealing with customer support - but man; the Loyalty # they just won't budge. You bought it - it's yours. Was given option to trade in for $350 after I pay the $800 owed on it. Said it works as advertised as it will work at Spokane mall - just nowhere else in WA!
I'm going down the small claims path. Downside it's prob all on Xoom now - as I was looking forward to verizon having to send a rep to small claims. Someone mentioned class action lawsuit - I think there's ton of us that would be onboard for that.
