Two days ago, at another users suggestion, I emailed Verizon via the contact us form.  I got a response from a woman named Eva that essentially towed tbe company line. In other words, we know whats best for you, so sit down & shut up. I responded to Eva and got another CSR named Cyndi who drank the same kool ade.  In short, writing to appeal to tbem does no good. Verizon has made up their minds that they can squseze more blood out of tbeir turnips.  I think this turnip is going to look for a new garden.

Everytime there has been a change or I have complained about my service at one of two Verizon stores in my area I was told point blank that if I leave I would be back again but if I didn't see that that would not matter to Verizon either. I even had a lady helping my wife upgrade her phone threaten to have me thrown out if I kept asking " stupid " questions when asking about my wife wanting to drop her unlimited data plan to go back to just a plain phone. My wife no longer want the data plan because she was having the same problems with her Droid X that I was like dropped service or timing out when just opening email.

This lady seemed mad that she wanted the change telling her when she changes her mind and she will that she would lose her unlimited if she dropped it at that point. Lol, she would be losing it anyways. Unless they change their game I will be in changing all my phones out to another provider in Aug. And I might even pay early termination fees to change my wifes with them. Its a shame seeing the business being lost over stupidity and greed.

I have also been emailing Verizon consistantly and had a little different response. I have little faith in what I received, but I will post the line so others can contact customer support about it.

"Verizon Wireless is pushing for the release of the software in the next few days; so just keep in mind that it is very close!" ~Customer Serivce email dated May 23, 2012

Could not agree more.  I got a rep to tell me the other day, "They have information about the new plans, but they can't talk about it...".  So goes to show you how dishonest they are, when they won't even let the Reps share information they already know, which we are asking about.  They are going to make them stay tight lipped until it's too late to avert certain things we may not want to deal with in our plans.  Why I'm buying out and going to T-Mobile Prepay.  At this point it's about integrity, and there lack of it.

I don't think anyone has picked VZW by basing their decision on cost alone.  It's never been the cheapest option.  The customer service and their willingness to keep their customer base has taken a blatant shift.  Honestly, I don't and never have used more than 2Gb/mo.  Maybe I'm paying more than I should by keeping the 'unlimited' plan, but my paranoia won't let me leave this be.  I've been burnt by 'caps' before, and the companies that impose them make it very uncomfortable when you exceed them.  So, I'm sure I've paid more in the long run just for my peace of mind, but I'm done here.  When you make it this obvious that the old adage, "The customer is always right" no longer holds true, then it's time for this customer to pack up and press on.  Don't worry VZW, as long as you keep funding the jimfitzs, they'll keep swinging for you.

Gorilla72 has it right.  Verizon has a lot to learn.   As some know, Broadband companies are also beginning to cap data, but there caps are reasonable.  AT&T has uverse capped at 250 GB /month and Comcast just raised their cap from 250 to 300 GB /month.  At home I have Centurylink.  For $44.95 a month I enjoy 10 MBPS (just as fast as my 4G LTE) and they recently put in a cap of 250 GB.   These reason this is important is these caps are realistic when sharing a connection between multiple devices.  250 GB is roughly 8 GB per day of internet downloading and streaming.  This is the kind of plan we will need to see from Verizon if they want their Family Shared Data Plan(s) to be viable.   So whatever plans Verizon is crafting, I hope they take notice that other broadband providers offer large buckets of data for minimal pricing.

Honestly, here's what I expect from the share plans:  5GB for $50 as an entry plan.  I would mirror the single plan with a 10GB for $80, but might include 15 and 20GB plans for those who want to pay more.  My only reason for believing that is that if you look at the plan page, you'll notice not only is the $30 plan not eligible for discounts - it's been that way since the start - but the $50 plan is no long eligible for discounts.

I'm not opposed to share plans.  I don't use a lot of data a month, less than 1GB, but I get a discount on my unlimited plan that I would lose in the tiered plans.  If I'm going to give up my discount for shared, it better be attractive.  I imagine we could have three phones on a 5GB plan and be fine, but if it's more than $50?  Thanks, but no thanks.

i see what you're saying, but you're comparing apples to oranges. if these services were comparable, then nobody would have smartphone's and the data plans that go with them. you can't use your broadband everywhere. you can't use it with a smart phone. broadband networks and plans are designed and built for HEAVY use. the networks we use for phones simply weren't. these data plans aren't designed to replace your home internet. you just can't compare the 2. you won't see the new shared plans anywhere near 250 gb's/month. we will be looking at something like the post above mentions......5, 10, and 20 gb plans (maybe some significantly higher plans, but they will likely be well over $100 for those that want more than 10-20 gb's).
