Video Calling Goup

There is a video calling group in my Samsung S20 FE5G contacts app that I did not create and am unable to delete. It has contacts in it from my contact list that I did not add and I am unable to remove them.

How can I delete this video calling group?

The only way I could remove the group was to delete all the contacts that were in it. When I add those contacts back to my contact list, the video calling group is automatically created and those contacts are automatically added to it.

We want to make sure that you 're able to manage your groups. Here are the steps for deleting a group of contacts:

1. From Contacts, tap Show navigation menu (3 vertical lines) > Groups, and then tap a group.
2. Tap More options (3 vertical dots) > Delete group.
โ€ข To only delete the group, tap Delete group only.
โ€ข To delete the group and the contacts in the group, tap Delete group and
move members to the trash.

Itโ€™s google they are going through google meet I switched from android specifically because of this!! Even disabling all google, restricting battery  not allowing links to be opened all done manually, they were still trying to track me DuckDuckGo will specifically tell you if you use it for a browser even when completely disabled manually they wouldnโ€™t stop! And google is a 3rd party to almost everything their GitHub  department was coding on my laptop due to an external hard drive being connected by a person whom had no permission to do so I found open meetings accessible through my search bar every time I changed setting options it was changed back ending in losing access to all of my own accounts and social mediaโ€™s and ultimately identity theft itโ€™s rather terrifying what they actually do and with this new AI technology they are number 3 in rank from 1-10 software companies my Microsoft account was the first they latched onto using Xbox to quite literally connect headphones to listen and turning off and on my Bluetooth and WiFi at their leisure while coding and using nearby device settings to share my information with themselves from my phone I had an actual person behind this mind you but even brought to the attention of google I was told on two occasions they were transferring me to a department to help and I was hung up on and blocked on both occasions hope this helps a bit

I have a Galaxy S22 and have the exact same issue.

The advice from the Verizon Customer Service Rep does not work. The group cannot be deleted nor can individuals be removed from the group without deleting them as a contact, as you seem to have found out.

I would like some clarification from Verizon on this group and how it seems to create itself and add certain contacts to it. More importantly, why doesn't the user have the ability to delete or even edit the group?

We appreciate you taking the steps about in an effort to remedy this and are sorry to hear it was not a viable soultion for you. As this is a Samsung feature we would recommend connecting with them directly samsung.com/support for further assistance.

Hi,

I have another post about this in which I noted I spent over an hour with Samsung Support, who in turn told me to contact Verizon about this.

Can you at least confirm if this Video Calling Group is automatically created and Contacts with that capability are automatically added to it is automatically created and not created by any user?

Based on the below quote taken from #5 on the Using Video Calling FAQ at this link https://www.verizon.com/support/hd-voice-faqs/   ,  it does seem the group is created and populated automatically. Can you confirm this?

"If you activated HD Voice, including Video Calling, you can easily determine which of your contacts are Video Calling-enabled. In your Contacts app, you'll find a group called "Video Calling." All the contacts listed in that group are capable of Video Calling."

Hello, mildewman, thanks for your reply. To confirm, do each of the contacts in this group have a Camera icon beside the Phone icon in their contact card? If so, this video calling group was likely created due to the HD Voice feature as you mentioned you have not manually added names to this group. Please let us know if this helps answer your question.

This is absolute ridiculous, either samsung or verizon creates a group and it can't be deleted!

We're sorry for the issues you're encountering. Samsung has two default text messaging apps. Samsung messages and Google messages. Which one are you using? Did you create the group message?
