Voice Mail Stuck

Hello,
My voicemail seems "stuck" in a "Please wait while voicemails are being downloaded" mode.
My data and wifi connections are both fine. I didn't realize that Verizon limits the number of VMs permitted and simply wanted to (well not really but forced to) archive or delete a few.
Please help.

I'm happy to offer some insights and help out with the voicemail. I clean mine out often, and like being able to have space for new ones. First to check, what happens when you check your voicemail by doing the *86 method? Dialing that to access and listen to voicemails?
