My voicemail hasn't worked for over a year. Tried Verizon customer support back then and not only did they not solve the problem, they tried to sell a protection plan 5 times during the call. ..even after I repeatedly asked them to stop.
I tested my voicemail by calling my cell from a landline. After several rings, it stops and voicemail doesn't connect. After about 45 seconds of silence the call is disconnected. I've tried to troubleshoot on my own but no luck.
There are other apps and services I should have access to, some with monthly charges and have no access. I also don't receive proper notifications about changes to my account and the only documents I find are billing or order related. I'm researching other carrier options. All the issues mentioned above have been ongoing and I don't appreciate how customer service thinks they can pressure me into another paid service on my account. It's unethical and unprofessional.

Maybe your voicemail inbox is full and can't accept any more messages. If you haven't deleted anything from your voicemail in a long time, try getting rid of messages you don't need anymore.

You're welcome. It's definitely not a full inbox problem then. Is your phone another carrier's model, which they unlocked, and then you brought your number to Verizon? If so, every carrier has their own method for voicemail and you need to reconfigure your voice mail app settings so it calls *86 for plain old voicemail, as well as setting up a voicemail PIN if you hadn't done so before. Otherwise, your phone will be trying to connect to the other carrier's voicemail service, which won't work if you aren't their customer any more. I had to tweak my phone when I ported out of Verizon briefly, because long pressing the 1 key on my phone dialer was "broken" for a bit, trying to call Verizon's system instead of the other guy's. (And then had to tweak it back when I returned to Verizon, because my phone was then trying to call the other guy's voicemail system instead.)

Hi Phoenix10, have you checked the 'Manage Call Filter' feature in MyVerizon (web https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-229285/ and app https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-233804/) to see there might be any numbers being terminated where the voicemail doesn't connect or dial *73 from your phone's dialer to cancel any chance that call forwarding is turned on. If not, what type of device do you have?
