I've had the same problems as others. Important calls are being missed due to lack of notification even though all notifications are turned on in voicemail settings.
Several weeks ago I spoke with a Verizon Tech Support rep named Jennifer, a brilliant woman. She was able to fix the problem but it turned out to be only a temporary fix.
So here I am. I followed the advice of wmcombs - we'll see if it works. I checked the battery setting and it is set to Unrestricted for voicemail.
I have come to the conclusion that Verizon Visual Voicemail is junk. When speaking with Jennifer I asked her if I could replace Verizon voicemail and she said "yes" and recommended an app called YouMail from Google Play Store.
Here is my question: how do I install YouMail without totally messing up voicemail function? Visual Voicemail is a proprietary app and as such I assume it is completely integrated into the phone's basic functions. I'm thinking this could be very, very tricky.
