How can you say that when Sprint, ATT and T-Mobile have released it on the S7? It's absolutely Verizon. Do you work for them?

No I don't work for Verizon Wireless. Never have.
Different teams, different schedules, different requirements for the specific models, different testing procedures. Who knows, maybe the VZW model was finished earlier then the others and sent to the final testing and it failed for reason like the Bluetooth issues the Pixel phones are having or the breaking of applications like the Droid Turbo 2 phones are having. So it was sent back to Samsung for troubleshooting and rewrite. Every time it fails a test it delays the final release to the public.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

This could very well be the case. If someone at Verizon could just say something regarding the status it would help. Not saying anything at all is just not good business. As I said previously a little communication goes a long way. They have not even attempted to do so.

Verizon Wireless can't. Most of the employees won't know anything and the ones that do are restricted by nondisclosure agreements.

Of course they can. Yes most of the employees do not have the ability to answer questions regarding updates. Yes certain employees are under a NDA, but also yes they certainly can provide us with information if they wanted to, they have chosen not to. By choosing not to provide any information whatsoever is not a good customer care/service oriented decision. It's not like they would be giving out classified information that is detrimental to the country. It is ridiculous and not a good way to do business.

Samsung follows the exact same process as HTC and HTC is very public about their status. Re: HTC 10 & Android 7.0. Read the entire thread from the linked point on.

The "#1 carrier" is always the last. Don't expect it till April. The same time the s8 launches. Thank God for monthly security updates...

7.1.1 and the February security update. I chose a device that actually delivers on its promise of regular updates.

All of the manufacturers have the base code. How much resources they have devoted to updating their existing devices and how many changes they have to make to get it to work with their customizations is what delays the release of the updates to their various and numerous devices.

More like, they'd rather sell you new phones with the software updates on it, instead of spending money to update the software, certify it and support it when people call. To Verizon, updates are a lose lose for them.
That, until companies like T-mobile start beating them in customer service so bad that Verizon cant just coast on having "the best network". Sooner or later, Verizon is going to have to improve the customer experience or risk hemorrhaging more customers.

Simple answer is... When Verizon feels like it! The other 3 already have the update, but Verizon is just being typical Verizon. Take their time knowing we'll still be here year after year upgrading our phones.
Maybe one day they'll make us feel like we really matter to them..... Maybe

And of course as usual, still no update for my Galaxy S7 Edge yet... the wait continues!

Why update when they can make you wait and force you into the s8. It's not like every major carrier in the WORLD has released it or anything. America's best carrier my [Removed]

When 3 out of 4 major carriers have released 7.x their is no logical reason other then to fault carrier not manufacturer. If software bug then one found in additional software by Verizon not found in update delivered to them by Samsung. None sign my paycheck and I have worked as an R&D Engineer so I understand the process. Verizon is typical business story of a company becoming omplacent w market share and think 'they have to stay w us'. I love Verizon but frustrated that we do have to wait so long for long ago stable updates.
